for the record i voted for putting our names somewhere on the inside - not too visible as to detract from the prettiness - but i also think it'd be cool if they were numbered :) and i still reckon one each of 333 cranes is the best way to go

I'm up for this too, sounds like a fun idea. Was in Japan last year, some of the temples are covered in cranes. All different colours it looks amazing!

Thanks for your offer, Jack : added you to the list.
I voted for the signing as well.

Just a suggestion -
Why not do a seperate collection for Anna's family? Paper cranes have also been given for funerals, I think.

An interesting suggestion alright. Might be debated here.

I'd be ok for it because it would allow us to go with the suggestions of both parties the thread, the 333 as well as the 1000 cranes. For the Heath family, I'd suggest a plain white crane though - color of mourning in Japan - with only Anna's first name somewhere on each crane. Keeps it simple and respectful.

in memorial of Anna, and also as a sign of solidarity in mourning to her friends and family, we are thinking of sending a number of white paper cranes to MC. the thread is over here http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=261296#261296 , please sign up if you would like to contribute - there are instructions on there already, more will come about who to mail them to later.
in #syzygy we have decided that we would like to send 333 plain white cranes - with annas name on, in memorial of her passing.
it would be really cool if we could get 333 people to make one each, sign it somewhere discreetly, and then we can collect them all together and send them off to MC. we are planning on bringing some crease patterns and paper to the wave 4 launch party and maybe doing them while we hold a minutes silence for her. we had way more than 333 people vying for the 333 packages, so we should easily be able to make this number if everyone joins in with just one crane - please sign up now and we will tell you what to do with them later!

Juxta raises a hand
I have a suggestion for what you could do with them...
Firstly, kindly stop crossposting this bewildering inanity across multiple forums, if people wish to participate, they'll read it here.
Secondly, just...wow...words really do fail me. I thought that the initial idea was just bizarre, and fairly pointless...
Quote:
"Mr. Mind Candy, we have a delivery for you here of fourty seven thousand, two hundred and seventeen paper cranes..."
"...."
"Just sign here."
"A whole skip full of Dubya Tee Eff? Did someone slip something into my coffee this morning or what? I've gotta cut back on the Smarties, really..."
But hey, it's your time and resources to do with as you see fit, so I kept quiet. Now it's being hijacked into something else entirely...I...just...well...lawks. And possibly also gadzooks. Really. Congratulations. You've managed to leave me speechless. I'm going to go and lie down for a while now, I may post later. Probably to respond to the accusations of my "evilness".

Assumption 1 : Junta is being humorous. Well, that was fun (or not) Moving on.
Assumption 2 : Junta wasn't. Who cares, that's his point of view and he's welcome to join, or not. Moving on, and no flaming, thanks
