New here, but I'm willing to try my part as well.

Added.

Also, next post from me will be to announce who'll collect the cranes and how to send them there. In the meantime, get the folding started (about 10 cranes per person) and PM me when you're done with your share so I can add them to the cranes count on the first page.

Cheers, B.

How about making it even more personal and sending a small group of people to hand the cranes to Mind Candy in person?

I think that'd be quite a nice touch.

Is it too late to add my name to the list? Could do with some paper cuts to distract me from endless writing...

i concur :)

also, it would help the person who received all the cranes (which atm looks like it'll probably be me) to have other people to help unfold the wings, and cut down on postage (train fare doesnt count ;) )

in that case, I have been consulting with Bookmore and it would be very helpful if people could have them folded and sent by the 23rd august (UK) or the 19th august (USA airmail). once you have stuff ready to send, please post in the thread so Bookmore can update the numbers, and we can PM you the address to send them too :)

rach =)

Have we decided a maximum/minimum size for the cranes?

EDIT: May I suggest that we lave some of the cranes blank? Due to the fact that we're probably doing about 10 each, we should all sign one, but what about the other 9?

It's going to be time to start folding cranes, people. Here's the lowdown on how we're going to make them :

Grab whatever white paper you have around you. Ideally (and most probably) you'll get a A4-sized page of white paper like we use in our printers and such. Fold your crane, write your name somewhere (under the wing or on the side of the crane's body) but do not pull on the wings to unfold them at the end ! We're going to keep them flat so that they can be sent in regular envelopes to the person who's going to collect them and don't get damaged in the transit. The collector will only have to pull the wings in place and then put them in the final box.

and yes, i think signing one of them sounds best.

rach =)

I think the current situation is that Spug will be receiving the cranes and they will then be delivered to Mind Candy by a small group of cube hunters. Probably in around 2 weeks, so that everyone has a chance to make them and get them sent off.

We will, of course, let you know the details Batgirl so you can come and take part. Smile

I've got the details so far off Izzy and taken the afternoon off work to be able to come along. Very excited! Are we in need of a box as I can get hold of one if we need one....?

My advice would be to turn up at about 12.30 to give it all to them. Then they'll feel obliged to take you all out for lunch.

At least they will now. Laughing

I'm told the S Bar in Battersea is very good.

I've got mine done

Unfortunately, due to running out of white A4 paper (mainy because I had trouble folding it and wound up ripping the would-be cranes rather badly - the stuff's really to thick for proper cranes), only two of them are white.

The other eight are a very pale purple with brown stripes.
