[EMAIL] Peter July 31 - Woods Walker & Chat

I sent Peter the hidden message in the emaildoc from Woods Walker. I also brought up setting up a chatroom, but he doesn't seem too interested.

Quote:
Nax,

Man. So I guess I really was supposed to meet the Woods Walker out there. I
wonder if I did something wrong? Maybe I should've paid more attention while
everyone was screaming and freaking out. Or maybe I should've stayed with the
group when I went to help Phyllis look for the "ghost" she saw.
Whatever I did
wrong, I didn't see the Woods Walker out there. So it looks like he'll
have to
give me another sign.

I can't believe you took that chat room thing seriously. Didn't you ever see
Arrested Development? Funniest cancelled show ever. Anyway, I don't much see
a point in having a chat room set up for mystery town. I mean, its not like
things are exploding here every five minutes. I'd probably just sign in and
bitch about my work day and how I can't get a girl and bore the hell out of
everyone. I guess I'll keep it in mind though. Thanks.

Got an email from Peter. I'll post my email to him below so this will letter will make more sense. lol

Quote:
Sandra,

Thanks for worrying about me. Been over a week since the fever and no sign of recurrence. I'd say I'm in the clear.

Heh. "Ghost in the Machine," eh Sandra? Are you saying that the Woods Walker is the deus ex machina of my life? He certainly seems to be. He gets me to do all these weird things without any sort of authority or even identity. So I guess he is a spirit in that respect. But of course, you know me well enough to know that I'm dodging the question.

All I know is, I didn't see what Phyllis saw. There's no way for me to know that she really saw anything at all, but for a second lets assume that she did. Hell, lets go ahead and assume that she did see a ghost. If the spirit can communicate so easily through the Internet, why lure me all the way out to the middle of the woods? Why couldn't he just materialize in my bedroom and scare the bajeezus out of me there?

The Woods Walker is clearly confined to a physical location. Therefore he interacts with the physical world and is not a "ghost" as we know them. If I were to believe anything supernatural about the Woods Walker, I'd say he was communicating across a dimensional barrier from a world that is spatially defined as ours is. Either that, or this is all some weird practical joke, and this Phyllis woman is involved. In either case, your second question is relevant: why me?

I honestly thought it was because of my interest in forensics, but now I'm
wondering. If its a practical joke...well, I know a few ghost hunters who
weren't too happy with my skepticism in the past. Iris and Phyllis probably know them. If it isn't a joke, then I'm just as lost as the rest of you. I have no family in Aglaura, and no friends related to the place except the ones I've met since this whole thing started. If there was anything remarkable about my relationship with Aglaura, it's that I knew nothing about it.

My letter to him:

Quote:
Hi, Peter,

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. You know how it
is when "life" gets in the way of what you want to do.

I presume you've been told about the hidden message in the
Word document that WotW sent.

I've got a speculation for you - now just stick with me and don't
think I'm some "kook."

What would you say if I told you that I've seen evidence that a
"spirit" can communicate through technology? What if the
reason the WotW has only contacted you through email is
because that's the only way he (assuming it's a male) can
get through to you?

If the WotW was at the hunt, why wouldn't he have approached you?
What if he tried to - but someone else saw him first and her screams
brought attention to him and he had to disappear.

What if I said I thought the WotW was Wes Keeler's spirit?

Well, now you either think I'm a kook or have read too much about
Quantum Physics or Chaos Theory and alternate timelines. You
have read about the "egg" that was used at Ong's Hat in the
Ashram, right?

The question is - why you? Have you asked the WotW why they
picked you to send on this journey? You said you wondered about
your own importance - but the is something you have inside you
that WotW is reaching out to.

Oh, well, it's just a theory. Probably have too much time on my hands
and need to find a good book to get lost in. lol

So, on to the more rational - how are you feeling? Any problems with
the dizziness? Any residual effects from the fever and your experience?

Keep me posted on what you might find. If there's any info you want
to get out to the group - let me know. I have ways to get them the
info. <g>

Take care.

Sandra

So even "rational" Peter thinks that it could be Wes caught in another dimension. I wrote him back and did some more babbling about the Egg and interdimensional travel.

I think this is very amusing. Peter who doesn't believe in ghosts, but considers another dimension to be real. Shocked

On the same line of thought, I wrote to Peter to ask if his last name is Fishwycke. Peter Fishwycke was a character in the original CTW. If my hunch is correct, then this could be the reason this Peter has become involved. The people we are interacting with this time are this dimensions set of characters and they are mirrors of the other dimension.

Is there a logical reason for your asking that question, nax?
I mean, it's kinda out of the blue.
Peter may have to interview you for your psychic abilities, now. Wink
If there is a reasonable reason for the request, I'm sorry I missed the connection. Otherwise, it's messin' with my TINAG.

Here's the mail I sent:

Quote:
Peter,

This may seem an odd question, and I promise I'm not some sort of Internet stalker, but there may be a reason Woods Walker has chosen you. Your last name wouldn't happen to be Fishwycke, would it? If so I'll try to explain in my next email why you've been involved with this whole Aglaura-Jersey Devil business.

Bye for now.

So you didn't miss anything, I figured I'd cross that bridge when I came to it. Very Happy

nax, good idea. Peter is used to getting weird emails. lol

As for Peter and the Entity (as I'm referring to it rather than a ghost) I think he's ok going down that path because there is some scientific bases to it. The whole thing about "riding the wave" as explained on the CD about the Ashram's experiments with inter-dimensional travel.

Speculations

I first PMed Sandra to get her take on the following and she suggested I should post in case someone else might remember something that might be relevant.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some things jumped out at me while I was reading Peter's email to you.

1.
Quote:

If I were to believe anything supernatural about the Woods Walker, I'd say he was communicating across a dimensional barrier from a world that is spatially defined as ours is. Either that, or this is all some weird practical joke, and this Phyllis woman is involved.

I know that Peter is referring to Phyllis here as someone who may have played a practical joke on him. But since Phyllis did see what she believes to be Wes, maybe see is the one who can see into different worlds and is the one we need for the mystes site.
Quote:

We have need of you, are you willing to help? At certain times certain people are able to see into different worlds, find us such a person.

I know that Phyllis moved to be closer to JD, but I'm sure she would come back especially if it meant she could help JD in doing so. The problem is, how to get in touch with her now. [edit] We have an answer to this http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=261965#261965

2.
Quote:

If its a practical joke...well, I know a few ghost hunters who weren't too happy with my skepticism in the past. Iris and Phyllis probably know them.

Is he referring to the guys (I don't remember their names) that where with Iris and Phyllis in CTW1? If so maybe, we need to get them all together again -- Phyllis, Iris, the guys and this time Peter. And, I'm curious how Peter knows them. Did I miss something?

But I don't know if they could all stay at the Hollow Needle this time. Is there enough room at Iris's place? But then, maybe we are suppose to get them all together at the Hollow Needle -- Phyllis, Iris, the guys, Peter and Sarah.

I personally am worried about Sarah being at the Hollow Needle alone anyways.

I didn't want to post this on the forum because I didn't know if it is relevant or not. But since you played CTW1 you would probably know better than me. And feel free to post it if you feel it is.

Sorry to be so immersed in the game, but it helps and I may be way off base here, so I'm counting on you to fill me in if I am.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Sandra (if she doesn't mind me quoting her) had this to say, some I didn't even know about and other things I never thought of:

Quote:
The guys who were involved with Iris and then Phyllis last time were ghost hunters - going to have to look up their names and ask Peter if they are the ones who he's referring to.

The speculation about Phyllis is also interesting. Never even thought of her. On a "meta" level I'm just concerned about them moving her out of town.

If there were anyone from CTW1 who meet the criteria of being able to see between worlds it would be Sarah but those powers just don't seem to be as developed as they were back then. Course, she was also a spirit, crazy, Dale's sister, and ready to pass on her powers to Meaghan. Not quite our sensitive librarian. lol

This makes me think, that maybe Meaghan is the one we need to see the different worlds.

Glad you posted that Sylvia and it's ok to post my reply. I didn't say anything I wouldn't have said in this thread. Smile

I looked it up and it was James and Chris who were the two guys who worked with Iris. I sent a note off to Peter and asked if those were the ghost hunters he was talking about. Not sure they are - but I've tossed so much strange stuff at him that I'm sure it won't be a total shock if those are the people.

Or it's one of the people that Dale is going to meet up with and we'll find out more about that as soon as we hear from Dale again.

As for Meaghan, my real concern is that they aren't doing anything for her.

I guess I don't have to cross the bridge. Your TINAG is still intact.

Quote:
nax,

Fishwycke is a *weird* name. And no, its not mine. I'd rather not say
what it
is though - the "Stalker of the Woods" may be listening.

Ooops, wrong thread....I think. Dag yo, maybe we should consolidate and make a General Response thread for emails that respond to our individual questions.
