Right, so what's supposed to happen when you get to the top. I look around but all I can see is the number seven scratched into the cave. The only thing I can click on is the ladder to head back down.

start at bottom of ladder on first rung with writing on it says >35 count the rungs to number 35 the first number on the rung write down the second is the next rung to go too.. again starting at the bottom... by doin this with each rung, you will get the next co-ordinates... hope this helps...

Thanks to everyone who helped with the Volvo game. I found this site through Google. After using the site for 2 days, I am really impressed. I like your community spirit. I registered so I could thank all of you for your help and compliment you on how smart and nice you were.
I could not have figured out much of the puzzle without your help. Sure I wanted to win a new car, but now it is fun just to play the game. I think that the contest will come down to the last few clues anyway.
I still don't understand very well how to put the St. Helena symbols together. Could someone please explain this in a little more detail? I don't understand how you put them in order with the symbols. Do we need the list of place coordinates in order? I saved them through screen capture in Paint Shop Pro. I did not find a use for the number at the top of the ladder on the wall- did you? I first started the game by typing in Black Pearl, but then the nearest dealer sent me a code in my email. The dealers cannot mail out maps to people.
In return for your help, I would like to post some information that I have not seen posted by anyone else yet. From my email:
You can receive a treasure map by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Volvo XC90 Pirates of the Caribbean Hunt Map Requests, P.O. Box 8042, Grand Rapids, MN 55745-8042. All mail requests must be postmarked by June 26, 2006 and received by July 3, 2006.
Madeira rhyme: "Aye, on this island a story is told… a Spanish armada of 20 ships. Sailed 42 days north. Just 2 nights of the whitest storms. For only 8 to reach this port. Forty days the ignorant thought. Their western gold got uncaught. Where my friend did they come from? Now you know- ha ha!"
Hint at Tropic of Cancer: "Follow the stream from shore to source; the skull reveals the secret course."
Saint Helena rhyme: "Coming from the completed plate, climb the stairs and guide your faith. Climb to heaven, afraid to drown. The Tempest always runs you down."
Thanks again. I hoped that I helped some of you.
