[UPDATE] Aglaura Speaks out!

On the Aglaura home page there is now a section with comments from aglaura citizens - here.

SO far there are two we can see

Quote:
Well, don't you think it's a little funny that this happens right when the people from Marz want to take over the Library building? I was at the meeting when Sarah and others first stood up to them and they were surprised, let me tell you. They weren't expecting no opposition to their plan, so maybe, just maybe, someone's trying to remove that opposition. I'm not blaming anybody, I'm just saying. - anonymous

Heh. Sounds like people are voiceing our concerns - or was this one of us?

The other one is just a fun little article on D avInci Code, etc.. doesnt seem relevant.

I like this part:

Quote:
People are actually going on hunger strikes in an effort to ban this movie. So, in essence, they wish to die for a work of fiction. And I though Harry Potter Megafans were frightening. Hunger strikes? Maybe to get Firefly back on the air.

"Aglaura was a quiet, happy little town until a certain person and his craziness spread through here like a sickness. How can we let crazy people like that ruin our city? Someone needs to put a stop to it before things get worse than they already are, which is pretty bad anyway. Too bad we can't ride people out of town on a rail anymore." - anonymous

June 29, 2006: "What is wrong with Aglaura? The whole town is going mad! People are dying everywhere. My gosh, someone even died at the amusement park - again! Not to mention in the Pine Barrens. Everyone's losing their minds! I'm scared to let my kids outside after dark anymore." - anonymous

June 21, 2006: "What sort of cowardice does it take to spread malicious lies and gossip about another person? People who talk about others behind their backs are the lowest sorts of individuals. An honorable person should never say anything that they wouldn't be willing to say to another's face. It's just wrong to smear people with gossip." - anonymous

Update 7-30-06

Quote:
Aglaura Citizens Speak Out!

"When questioned about the state of the library, Mayor Dobbs responded, 'It's really a shame. If those books had been digitized, they would have been saved.'

Now Mayor Dobbs is showing where his vote would have gone? He would have broken the tie in favor of Marzant's plan? Any chance we can have a look at his campaign financial statement?

Digital file servers can easily be damaged and more would have been lost since the servers and storage media take up less room (so easier to destroy).

And, by the way, even if the measure had passed, I doubt any of the books would have been copied in less than a month, much less all of them.

How about if there had been a modern fire suppression system when the library was remodeled recently? Like the one in the new municipal building?

I think someone really wants the library building destroyed (jeesh, wonder who that could be???) and when they didn't get their way in the council meeting, they resorted to alternative methods."
