argh!!! how good are the maps you guys have used??
I could do with a little more help as I'm a simpleton..
I've tried

west bank
and nicosia
none of which are right
but it all depends on where you define the centre of the maldives
excuse be while i go and bang my head some more..

I can see your problem - political geography is all a bit fluid in that region. Possibly you're trying to come up with too solid an answer.

Calculations Did anyone actually manage to get this to meet at the answer...
My calculations based on cia coords led me to:
