Not too lucky on the Silvers though, Poozle!

Seriously though, like Poozle I was glad I went to ASIB first as I knew no-one, and it was much easier to meet people there and then go with them to Borders.

I did manage to speak to speak to a few new people in Borders, but mainly it was MC staff or those I'd met earlier at ASIB.

No.... 19 packs, 1 silver Sad Would have been MUCH worse had I only gone to borders, at least my silver was solveable, and we were on the right track for Manouvers at ASIB with the openings thing.

The funniest part of the evening was when a drunk person came up to me and someone else (can't remember their name) as he overheard us on about bad luck and said it was becuse of astrology and that it would be better in a few days. But he thought I was a stock trader for some reason, not sure where he got the idea, was funny though.

An easy mistake to make, I would have said. Smile

Oooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I am so unhappy!

CALLING ALL ATTENDEES OF THE LAUNCH - JAYITO NEEDS YOU!!!

I soooo wanted to go to the Launch Party on Monday evening... I haven't been to a live event yet, and I even went to London, especially, and was at the ASIB swap meet in the morning bankrupting myself buying cards (And forgetting all about my car so getting a nice £40 parking ticket Evil or Very Mad ).... But I had to pick up my brother from the airport in the morning, so after dragging him to ASIB, (Hello to all that I met there - it was very nice to meet you all - I was the blonde girl buying obscene amounts of cards when my brother wasn't looking and then giving away some of my numerous duplicates!), I had to give him some of my attention... But I was still so hoping to get a first solve when the servers opened... But where was I at 6? Stuck on the underground, taking him to his hotel! And where was I at 7.30? Dragging suitcases all around Canary Wharf, looking for the Canary Wharf Hilton, which after about an hour of walking around in circles, some kind security guard informed us that although it is called the Canary Wharf Hilton, it is not, in fact, in Canary Wharf. By this time I had to be polite and stay for dinner with his friends he was staying with and didn't get away until 11 Sad Although no-one seemed to understand quite how important it had been to me to enter a first solve or go to the Launch party at the time, I did eventually manage to convert a couple more people to the wonders of Perplex City though! Smile

I did not manage to finally get online until yesterday (and of course, hundreds of people had already solved the cards I had wanted to solve first Crying or Very sad ), so.... Please, kind, Perplex City Devotees... I have found the community to be so helpful and generous so far... Please, tell me, what happened? I want to know.... I NEED to know!! Every detail, from beginning to end.... What games, competitions, what prizes? What "goodies" were there? And what is this fabled GOLD card I have heard about? Who was there? What did you do? Were there any clues? What's the gossip? Have any Perplex City inspired romances begun? Were there sore heads the next day? Wink As I could not live it myself, please, let me live it vicariously through you good people....

Ooooo, and how did the media streaming interviews go? I think that's what I'm meant to call them - I was told at the swap meet that "podcast" was a dirty word!

Thank you to you all, in advance. I look forward to tales of drunkenness and debauchery!

Lots of fluffy love Very Happy ,

Jayo xxx Smile

Ooooooooooooooooohhhhhhh dear,

I somehow seemed to have missed the first page of this topic...

Please don't Trout me!

But any more infor would be great, and Hi again to all those I met at ASIB in the morning - I haven't met any other fellow Perplex City fans before, I can't imagine any of my friends being into it (and they would all think I was weird, which I am, but they don't need to know that Wink ) and I have no-one else to talk to about it Crying or Very sad

So thank you for being here! Embarassed

Jayo xxx

Hi

and pretty much all that happened was whats been mentioned, there wasn't very much going on tbh, I think the trouble was WAY more people turned up than they were expecting orginally.

Would have been nice to see you again at the party but I remember who you are now, the person who spent too much, wait, that was all of us Laughing

Yeah, I was a bit surprised both (a) by the numbers and (b) by Borders as a location in the first place. I've been to quite a few book signings/launches/talks there, but for a boisterous noisy thing like the PXC launch do, it didn't seem quite entirely apposite - not much room to talk shop, ordinary punters drifting through the throng, the difficulty of making oneself heard over the hubbub with questions and buzzers alike during the quiz. Plus it was like a sodding furnace in there.

However, I guess a commercial place that sells the packs and stuff was a necessity to actually launch the cards and have us merry consumers buying them, and one presumes that in terms of Central London, only Borders is big enough and has the facility for staging any sort of event...

I remember someone asking us what was going on and what it was all about and all we could really say was that it was puzzle cards, I think they were VERY confused.

I guess it's as well I couldn't make it then if there were too many people there already.... Confused

(jayito desperately tries to convince herself that she didn't miss out and it would have been far too busy... one extra person would have ruined it... honestly...)

Which one were you poozle? I didn't quite catch all the screen names Embarassed

Wish I could have met more of you lovely people Crying or Very sad

I'll have to wait until the next live event I guess... Very Happy

I remember that. I had a thought about it in my head, and next time I know exactly what to tell someone if they ask what it is. Depending on the type of person, either gloss over the cards and concentrate on the ARG (which I'd buzzwordingly call "interactive storytelling"), or gloss over the ARG and concentrate on the cards. More likely the second option.

And hello Jayo. I do seem to remember you, I hope you know who I was Razz

I have a tried and tested, well, I guess all you can call it is a "Presentation" to explain Perplex City to people, as no-one I know has even heard of it... I show them my very first card (#089 Forever Foe) and explain the whole idea to them... then attempt to convice them how glorious it is to finally be able to excerice your brain in a game... Which you'd think would be pretty straightforward, but unfortunately, an amazing number of people don't seem to find that appealing... Maybe if I had a projector and a long stick... Geek

I do remember you Agent Lex... I never did borrow your pencil, did I? Wink

I was on the middle computer when you came in (I think) but I was the one who had the rubbish luck (which seems to be a bit better now, 4 packs today with 2 blacks, both new).
