It looks like mini versions of the main image to me as well (timely discussion this, I got this card today), but there does appear to be a bit of variation - unless that's just my eyes!

OK, agent Lex disagrees with me, but i'm thinking that 011-Revelation has tiny chinese/japanese characters on the top, and a few other cards from all 4 waves look like they could say something. *squints* yep!

I see SOMETHING, I'm not sure what though (btw, what version is your on?, mine is 0.5)

yeah, I have 1 of each, and the 0.5 is hard to see. the wave2 card is very easy to see. it varies too much. *goes to look for microscope again*

Right this is real small writing on the Silver boader of card #237 Roaming Identity

and says

"otpaaworldtdnia 1.56.29"

Managed to get myself a magnifying glass to have a look at this myself... just checking that its definitely this as there's some debate among people i know looking at this card about whether its:

Quote:
otpaaworldtdnia 1.56.29

or

Quote:
otpaaworldtdnla 1.56.29

(note the change in the i at the end)

Still not sure what it means though!

look at that!! thjought it was a scratch on my card or something...
(goes to get magnifying glass)

edit: Looks more like the i variant to me, as it's slightly shorter than the L in the "world" portion

The only business I could find in the zip code was the PO box for an Amish furniture store. I found the link on www.amish.net, which seems like a paradox Smile

Someone pointed out in the thread for Roaming Identity that if you take 'world' out of 'otpaaworldtdnia', the remaining letters are an anagram of 'adaptation'.

Just thought id post that in this thread in case anyone had missed it.

Or, of course, "adopt a Tina".

Could this be a "dingbat"/catchphrase type clue, where you "say what you see", i.e jumbled adaptation around the world (obviously that's not the answer)

I like the dingbats idea and have been considering this too.

Keeping it simple could this link to Verne and around the world in 80 Days http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Around_the_World_in_Eighty_Days or even the Jules Verne Trophy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jules_Verne_Trophy (which links to the theme of the card).

Both are adaptations and Verne was not the first to use the idea, it does go as far back as antient Greece and Pausanias.

As for the numbers still working on them, must get my copy of ATWI80D and see if theres a link - now where is it...

It's an anagram for "Drown a data pilot"

Major Maine's death was no accident!

Slightly less ridiculous is "A world data point," although I like the idea of a dingbat better as well.

Perhaps relying on anagram servers (as I tend to do...) is too short-sighted. Loads of films have proper nouns and what not in them - it might even be a foreign title...

Still, I think this is the right track. Hopefully Wink

My (dodgy) spec on the microtext, following various film-related discussions elsewhere:

The last of the recent Lord of the Rings films was on TV last night, and as I watched it I decided that the "world" in the middle of the text could be world = earth, and hence "Middle Earth". If adaptation pertains to film adaptations, then at least these versions are long enough.

So I trawled through both the original version of the first film (Fellowship of the Ring) and the extended version. Under the original edition, 1hr 56m 29s is about where Frodo reveals his Mithril armour - irrelevant.

Under the extended version, 1.59.26 lies on the second disk - I calculate the first to be 1.41.18 long, so I looked at 0.15.11 on the second. At this point, the only possibly interesting thing is a shot of the entrance door to Moria, with Frodo about to say "It's a riddle".

You can see a picture of the door design here, which is apparently taken from Tolkien's original design. It has stars and stuff on it. Oh, and trees.

Possibly of further interest, although this is definitely wild-spec territory, is the link between the symbols and Freemasonry, as suggested here (and from where the first image is taken). I find it interesting as Rosicrusians and Freemasons keep popping up - I've come across them a couple of times in Borges, for example. But then, they get a lot of coverage, so perhaps this is just inevitable when looking into such things.

Anyway, maybe the puzzle Frodo solves will become relevant later - the "final mystery" perhaps?

As always, thorough criticism and sceptisism should be wielded... now!

It was just pointed out to me by a friend that 1.56.29 is proper american military format for January 29th, 1956.

thanks thats interesting , that would tie in to an earlier idea i had about that message ' a adapt id owl' relating it to AA.Milne (who i have come across elsewhere in the warren) - who sadly died 2 days following that date'.
