Just throwing it out there, I doubt this is what the key is going to be, but you never know.

You _really_ want to use some coding skill in this, don't you? I agree though, using brainfuck would be... Shocked

Edit: Also, I'm not about to leave. I fully understand the motivations, have learned a lesson from this for when I decide to PM, and fully believe that the PMs here have learned a lesson as well. Game on!

Okay, read this short story. I will summarize for you all.

A man, who is existing in some other time/planet/dimension from us, builds a "time machine". To test its effects, he tosses some children's toys inside and off it goes.
These toys are from when his son "crossed over" from earth, when he "found the way", and no longer serve a purpose.

The time machine never returns. He builds a second, it also never returns.

These boxes land in two different times on earth: mid-18th and mid-19th century. The story of one is short: a young girl(mayb 10-12ish in age) finds one, speaks of "magic toys" inside which taught her incomprehensible ideas and songs that noone can understand. It is stated that she is "too old" and "would never find the way". Her story ends.

In the other time, the box is found by a younger boy, who shares the toys inside with his 2-year old sister. Long story short, the toys are extremely odd, and they behave in ways which defy the explanations of our normal 3-dimensional points of view. Actions taken on the toys, to the eyes of adults, have nonsensical and random results, but the children train their minds to understand the extra-dimensional workings of these toys, and they start to develop symbolic languages, concepts of multi-dimensional travel, and they keep trying to work out some kind of puzzle as they learn from these toys.

Eventually, they start arranging objects in seemingly random patterns around the floor, trying to figure out some kind of odd puzzle, and once they do, they dissapear, never to be seen again. The father desperately tries to figure out the sense of it, but he absolutely cannot, because his adult mind was too trained in certain patterns of thought and perception.

Constant reference is made in this story to being trapped in "euclidian thought", and that the children are being taught by toys meant for a different form of perceptive training, and are being conditioned to "x logic", logic that abides by rules utterly incomprehensible to our adult minds in this worl.

For some reason, the stanza from the Jabberwock:
twas brillig, and the slithy toves
did gire and gimble in the wabe
all mimsy were the borogoves
and the momerathes outgrabe

is key to the childrens understanding, as they were constantly poring over this part of the poem as a part of their method for "figuring out" the "way" to cross the dimensions, but the father couldn't work it out. End of story.

-----------------------------

I saw no hints of any explicit logic puzzles as we were recognize them in this story. Unless that stanza of the Jabberwock is directly relatable to the solution to this puzzle, I am of the opinion that the only other thing to be gained from this story is the admonishing of abandoning common logical patterns, as you've been told many times before.

Here it is...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The messages from S1547NY5 gave us numbered sentences.
1: I know
2: you know
3: we know
4: they know
5: he knows
6: she knows

After the Vignere we get a bunch of these phrases stuck together. Replace each phrase with the corresponding number. For example weandtheyknow would become 3,4.

Make a 5x6 grid with the alphabet going across (notice we don't get any pairs bigger than 5,1). Replace with the appropriate place in the grid to get:

Congrats, Ilikepucks. I think they will have to be pleased by the speed with witch this answer was uncovered.

ETA: For ease of reading it, here's the clue in normal format.

P-one has been removed from his duties due to the error of indiscretion. It was a calculation that did not work correctly. The chain of events shall continue as each of you shall be individually assessed. It is highly imperative to work as a team from the lessons given. That is how you advance your learning and understanding. The next hint will be for you to think logically.

Actually I just like esoteric programming languages, BF and Zombie are just fresh in my mind from playing The Zombie Game for a while.

Surprised nobody has beaten me to this:

http://www.immersionunlimited.com/index.php?topic=2604.0

The title is "Level 3 Puzzle." The post sounds as if it's all on the up-and-up, saying there will be a Level 4 when they are done doing some things. So what is level 3?

Edit: Synthesis says that this post is not a puzzle in any way.

I'm back

Hi all, just wanted to say I'm back. I disappeard for a bit, due to a new job and a computer meltdown. But yay, I return. I am very impressed with what all went on while I was out of touch.

That being said - the level three thing.

I think they are saying "We're rewriting some stuff, there's a bit of a break here, when we're done reevaluating how this is going to work with Travis being a rogue version of us messing things up, we'll continue."

Even though it's titled "Level 3" I don't see any puzzles in there. Also didn't he/she/it/they say the next puzzle would be logic based?

I decided to ask Synthesis and they said that the post is not a puzzle. The last line is supposedly a clue that will help in puzzle 4, though.

Quote:
Me: Hmm, is this post a puzzle or not? I am getting contradictory information. The title says it's a puzzle, the body doesn't seem like a puzzle, but refers to the next puzzle, in the future, as #4.
Synthesis: It is NOt a puzzle.
Synthesis: I will put up a puzzle several days from now.
Synthesis: There was a hint to puzzle #4 in the last line of #3. That is a valid clue for the next puzzle.
Synthesis: But no, the post is storyline itself, based on my terminal footh in mouth disease.
Me: okay, thanks for the clarification

I believe that google owns blogspot. What you saw was probably a valid error page, and it had a mention of google on it because it is owned by google.

I've been following along for a few days.. Even with the seeming hit the narrative took this looks like it'll be fun to tag along with. >.>; Do you guys mind? haha

P.S. Do you guys have an IRC room you're using? I guess there won't be much going on for a few days which kind of sucks, but I'd like to drop in and say Hi.

If there is an IRC chat, I'm not aware of it. And I can't afford the official version of IRC anyway, so I just tend to not visit the IRC chats. Sure, I could download a new free demo every thirty days, but that's just too much of a hassle.
