Trout away if I am being dumb (I've never heard of this ARG before), but is the theyggdrasilreport site completely new, as in nobody has yet obtained membership and enrolled in their courses?

Obviously, the notebook picture of the worlds is based on the Tree Of Life ( http://www.thelemapedia.org/images/9/97/Treeoflife0.gif ), but is this important to anything, or did the TOL just serve as a kind of map for the PMs to use?

I wish I knew more about mythology.

Probably not helpful, but it occurred to me as very appropriate that the tree has only one eye.

Trout me if this has been explored already (I forget; I read the thread in its entirety last night and I've slept since) but has anyone researched Odin/Woden? If not, I'll volunteer for that if nobody else wants to.

Edit: I did a search of the thread, and there were bits of info on Odin, but overall it doesn't appear as though anyone has researched him specifically. So I'll jump on that.

Edit the second: Reading through the Wikipedia entry, I noted this: "Also, many royal families claimed descent from Odin through other sons." It seemed significant because of the emphasis on tracing your ancestry back to Woden on the eyesofwoden page. Notes on ancestry follow. (All info from here is from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sons_of_Odin)

Ve and Vili (or Weh/Wei and Wille), his brothers
Balder, Hod, Thor, Vídar, and Váli, his most famous sons, although only Thor, Balder, and Váli are identified as his sons in the majority of traditional lore. Snorri Sturluson identifies Vidar, Heimdall, Bragi, Tyr, and Höd as sons of Odin, though this information appears only in his edda. Bragi may be a skaldic poet made into a god.

Another interesting note is that "Hermód appears in Snorri's Gylfaginning as the messenger sent by Odin to Hel to seek to bargain for Balder's release. He is called "son" of Odin in most manuscripts, but in the Codex Regius version—the Codex Regius is normally considered the best manuscript—Hermód is called sveinn Óðins 'Odin's boy', which might mean Odin's son but in the context is as likely to mean Odin's servant. However when Hermód arrives in Hel's hall, Snorri calls Baldur his brother. To confuse matters other texts know of a mortal hero named Hermód or Heremod."

I can research more if people think it would be helpful... I know this wasn't particularly in-depth, but I hope some of it will be useful. But right now it's 4 am and I'm fading, so research will have to wait.
