So, what now?

I'm guessing the next step is to get in good with the Eyes of Woden. Perhaps a user/pass for their members section needs to be found. Esteed, do they still think you're Denarius?

EDIT: Has there been a chatroom setup for this game yet?

Another update to the blog.

Quote:
I thought I'd try to bring a more personal flavour to this blog, so here goes.

I quit my job at the New York Public Library last month and have been sending out resumes and attending interviews ever since. None of the positions really appealed to me, and most of the time I didn't get a call back for any of them, so I had all but given up hope. Then, yesterday, I got an odd phone call. An executive at Heimdall Industries was apparently given my resume by a friend of his, thought I had potential, and wanted to meet with me. I accepted and went in yesterday. The interview went extremely well so I'm hoping for a call back soon. It pays well too, so I won't have to worry about nearly missing my rent anymore.

Aside from that, I had a nice chat with someone named Esteed the other night. We discussed the quote I posted about on Tuesday, what it could mean, and the possibility that Woden's influence stretches into our own world. He told me about a very interesting group called the Eyes of Woden. I checked out their website yesterday and was intrigued. It's a shame their membership requirements are so strict, but then again it appears to be some sort of secret society so that shouldn't be a surprise.

Another thing that's intrigued me is this site that appears to have some sort of connection to all this. I was unaware that anyone else knew about Dr. Ragnarsson's report. If whoever runs that site reads this, I'd very much like to get in touch with you.

So I did a little checking. The only new name we were given was Heimdall Industries, right? Well, lookie what I found.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://heimdallindustries.atspace.com/

I'm exploring the site now, and I'll edit any info I find into this post.

Nice find. I can't seem to find anything on the page (nothing in the source, etc.) Also checked the image for steg just for the heck of it and got nothing. Just FYI, Heimdall was the guardian of Bifrost

Well, Heimdall is one of the Aesir, and protects Asgard with his horn, Gjallarhorn. He has super senses, and never sleeps! He's very interesting.

Tying in with Kitrona's paternal research Heimdall is also one of Odin's sons, probably a foster son.

Also, he is the last God to die on Ragnarök.

His nicknames are;
Hallinskķši ("Bent Stick")
Gullintanni ("Golden-Toothed")
Vindhlér ("Wind Shelter")
I tried some different combinations of those in the url with no luck, but nothing extensive if someone else wants to give it a go.
Edit: spelling

There is a horn in the picture on the Eyes site.

I didn't see anyone post this, but http://theyggdrasilreport.atspace.com/transmission1.htm has something new, dated March 20 (in the European fashion).

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It has been roughly nine months since I last made use of this comm-journal. In the time that has passed, our company has endured many hardships. When we left the Gapland, we were immediately ambushed by the enemy. Several of the men we teamed up with at Banta Base were slain and the enemy attempted to seize the Hammer.

When this occurred, I lay wounded. As a medic came to tend to me, a bright light enveloped the battlefield. The young civilian girl, Maria, was walking straight toward the enemy. I opened my mouth to shout, but no words came. I swear that at that moment she looked at me and I became paralyzed. She then proceeded to sing in a tune both child-like and ethereal. The light increased and it was as though she were bathed in the sun, for I could no longer look upon her. I struggled to, but I was blinded. Everything was white for a time, and the only sound was that beautiful song. When the light finally receded, the girl was on the ground and the enemy had completely vanished.

Is this the power of the Valkyrie?

Transmission received: 20.03.2007 06:15 [Tanais Wavebender 9.999%]

Spoilered just in case. It's linked from the main page there, quite obviously, under 'Transmissions'.

(I'm still not familiar enough with what's to be spoilered and what not, so if this is wrong, please either let me know or fix it. Smile )

Edit: Although you've already found it, Axys Denied, the chatroom's #odina, just so nobody else needs to search back through the thread. (I am a laziness enabler, yes.)

I've now had a brief chat with odinanova. Here's the transcript.

Quote:
[21:46] SamRey56: Hello.
[21:46] *** Auto-response from odinanova: I saw the sky split in two: one half jealous and one half cruel.
[21:53] odinanova: 'ey
[21:53] SamRey56: I see you've updated the report.
[21:54] odinanova: mhmm
[21:54] SamRey56: I assume then you would be Tanais Wavebender?
[21:55] odinanova: in posession of one maybe. who wants to know?
[21:56] SamRey56: I'm Esteed. So if you are in possession of one, would that one originally belong to a Dr. Ragnarsson?
[21:57] odinanova: it might've.
[21:58] odinanova: listen, Esteed. this is some sensitive stuff. if you want to know, you have to work for it. for all i know you're one of them.
[21:59] SamRey56: Oh, trust me, I've no love of Woden, from what has been told of him. But I quite understand you suspecting me. It's good safety, in this case. What would you have me do to prove myself?
[22:00] odinanova: i've hidden something on my website. if you're serious about bringing 'em down, you'll find it yourself. i'm not going to make this easy.
[22:00] SamRey56: Understood.
[22:03] odinanova: but if you really want to know, consider that "update" a little nudge. i was getting impatient.
[22:07] SamRey56: Hmm...I see. Mistletoe would be quite significant, then, in any battle with them.
[22:09] odinanova: for all i know that's just an old myth. if anything, the symbols the doc associated with it are what's important.
[22:12] SamRey56: The runes, yes. Sowilo and WUNJO. I remember reading somewhere that WUNJO was in some ways a representation of Mjolnir.
[22:14] odinanova: it's a possibility. the doc was the expert in all that. though i'd say it's what's under the surface that really matters.
[22:20] odinanova: you still there?
[22:21] SamRey56: I am, yes. Just trying to find what you've hidden.
[22:21] odinanova: ah
[22:22] odinanova: well i'm going to go watch that old game show with don morrow. look it up.
[22:22] odinanova: and if you're one of them, give it up. i don't stay in one place for long.
[22:23] odinanova: adios.
[22:23] SamRey56: Later.

Don Morrow is noted as being the host of the NBC game show Camouflage. Hidden under the surface, Camouflage, it's pretty obvious. But I can't seem to find the right password for the images of the runes.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanais

"The Tanais river mentioned by Arrian in his anabasis of Alexander is the Orexartes, which flows into the Aral Sea. Tanais is also the name of a small isopod crustacean of the family Tanaidae, notable for its three sexes."

New chat, new transcript, and two destegged txt files. Still trying to make sense of a few of these things, so I won't spec too much.

Quote:
[02:17] SamRey56: How was Camouflage?
[02:20] odinanova: bad, but i guess that's why it only lasted one season.
[02:23] SamRey56: Makes sense to me, yeah. The name is also pretty relevant to current situations, I think.
[02:24] odinanova: the 80s version, even more so. yeah, i watch a lot of bad tv on the doc's weird technology. give me a break.
[02:25] SamRey56: Hey, no teasing here. You're talking to the guy who watched Power Rangers for a few hours because he was bored, lol.
[02:27] odinanova: haha, i watched super sentai from '75 on this thing a little while ago. same thing but in japanese. pretty hilarious.
[02:29] SamRey56: That's great! XD Does it also let you play games on it? I notice the icons on your site are from Space Invaders.
[02:31] odinanova: yep! if it showed up on a television screen or a computer monitor and some point in the past you can watch/play it like it's new.
[02:32] SamRey56: Geez, that is one handy piece of technology! If it weren't so sensitive, the doc could've made a fortune off that alone.
[02:33] odinanova: indeed. shame those bastards had to take the other half.
[02:36] SamRey56: That's right, it isn't complete. I can't even imagine what you could do with the doc's technology if it were still in one piece.
[02:39] odinanova: anything really, if i was in the right place. i could go anywhere. right now all i can do is pick up signals and data from other times and places, but i can't physically go there. with the other half you can do both.
[02:40] SamRey56: ...And if they got their hands on THAT...
[02:40] odinanova: but even so, my signal's weak because i'm so far away from the Core. shame i don't know exactly where that is.
[02:41] odinanova: if you've seen the transmissions, you can see that i only get about 8-10% reception. it blows.
[02:41] odinanova: yeah, it'd be nice. but the fact that THEY have it makes it pretty scary. who knows what they're doing with it, or what they're going to do.
[02:42] SamRey56: I really don't want to find out what they plan to do.
[02:44] odinanova: i do, but it's risky. i think this thing runs deep. i've had attempts made on my life and i can't stay in one place for more than a day. but things have been getting pretty lively lately. they're planning something, i just don't know what or why.
[02:45] SamRey56: I could speculate, but right now speculation just seems like a waste of time, when I should be thinking about how to find what's already out there.
[02:48] odinanova: agreed
[02:59] SamRey56: I'm going to take a guess here and say that the images are where you've hidden what you want us to find.
[03:00] odinanova: i'd say that's a good guess.
[03:05] SamRey56: Well, I really am kicking myself for not getting it sooner. I found one.
[03:06] SamRey56: Make that two.
[03:07] odinanova: i'm glad!
[03:12] SamRey56: SOL and JOY.
[03:13] odinanova: mhmm
[03:14] odinanova: and with that, i must take my leave. best of luck. bring those bastards down.
[03:14] SamRey56: Will do.
[03:14] odinanova: adios.

Odin has one eye, he sacrificed the other one so that Mimir would allow him to drink from Mķmisbrunnr, the well of wisdom, wich granted odin the wisdom of past present and future. The well was the source of water for the Yggdrasil. Mimr drinks from his well using the Gjallarhorn, a drinking horn which shares the same name as the horn used by Heimdall to announce Ragnarök. Heimdall also sacrificed his hearing to Mimr for the same knowledge as Odin. Odin Hung himself from the world tree and was pierced with his own javelin and hung for nine days to gain the knowledge of death and to gain the power that he has in the nine realms of existence and in the process he learned the eighteen runes. His two ravens, Huginn and Muninn, scout across the world by day and report back to odin about whats happening at night. The triangular symbol on the tree on the eyes of woden site, is the valknut, a symbol associated with odin, it is thought to symbolize odin's power to bind or unbind a man's mind. The first humans were Ask and Embella, Odin and his brothers created them out an ash log and an elm log. Norse Royalty usually claimed to trace their lineage back to odin through them, but all human families are descended from them. Odin also is in possesion of Mimr's head wich he uses as an oracle.

I dont know if that helps in any way possible but im just throwing out what i know about Odin.

New transmission received on theyggdrasilreport.atspace.com.

Quote:
Following that ambush, we buried our dead and the medics tended to the wounded. The power of the Vitki is strong, so the healing was swift. However, it didn't seem to any effect on Maria. She lay unconscious for hours, and when she awoke she refused to move or speak. One of the Vitki told me this was because the Valkyrie are a stronger breed than normal men, so their power was not likely to be of any use. Another told me she had released so much of her power that she exhausted her energy, and simple rest would aid in her recovery. I came to a much different conclusion, however; for she is but a young girl and had just sent a dozen men into the Void. Though she recognised these men as her enemies, she felt remorse for slaying them. Her innocence had been tainted and there was blood on her hands.

What is this world coming to? Children should never have to fight our wars.

Any ideas? I seem to be fresh out at the moment.

EDIT: Wait, wait. On the membership page, it says once you have been "tapped" you need to start using the six letter password. But if you're just sending an email saying, "Hey, I can verify it and I want in," you haven't been "tapped" yet, have you?

And I found some stuff. JOY and SOL, we were thinking they were words for the email. They weren't.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://eyesofwoden.atspace.com/sol.htm

And then a much larger one for JOY.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://eyesofwoden.atspace.com/joy.htm

Working on deciphering now.

EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Anglosaxonrunes.JPG Those look identical to the ones provided in the key.

I have sent such an e-mail but have received no reply. I sent what I wanted to be my password as the subject, and asked to be notified of what to do next.

Yeah, but I figured it'd be worth a shot and try bluff it, after all it might've opened new avenues for us. Though I've had no response so I presume that it was wrong. Nothing ventured, nothing gained right?

Also the SOL and JOY pages, you think SOL is the key for the decryption of JOY? I haven't tried it yet since I'm not good with pronounciation/romanisation/whatever of some of the characters in those translations, basically most of the extended latin characters (assuming that we need to translate these into english before decrypting of course.)
But that's my input for now anyway, unless I somehow get to grips with the characters.

Sol as the key seems compelling as it's 26 characters, however it doesn't seem to be a straight a-z. If it is simple sub it might be easier to work it out just on Joy?

BTW, the membership page says 6 word password
