Favicon Utils

Favicons are those little logo images you see in the address bar of your web browser on certain websites.

Create a Favicon from any image

and more importantly...

Figure out why your Favicon stopped showing up

Ooo... what a great way to tag a site as "in game" but have it be in an unobtrusive way!

Wow... that's a pretty clever use of favicons. It is pretty easy to intentionally mess with it if someone would want to, but ignoring the malevolent, it's a pretty spiffy way to mark your sites...

Somehow, in IE, the favicons stop showing after the first time I viewed a site, both in the address-bar and in my Favorites menu... it's been like that for years and years and I wonder if it's something I do wrong or if it's just something that's wrong with IE... Firefox has none of that.

I'm not sure what causes it, but it's easy to remedy. In IE, click-hold-drag the generic favicon to the right over the address bar, then release. This should force it to refresh the image.
