In either event these events can make one feel a little on edge, that is what it is most likely though a reassurance is needed. I'm sure it will be ok. Though if she is in trouble then we should do all we can to help. Just standing by and doing nothing is contemptable, the least you can do is offer support.

Well, I sent an email saying the answer was "a stranger". I got this back this morning. Apparently, that's the wrong answer.

Max, if you don't want to help me then you don't have to, but please, don't tell everyone else not to do anything about it. You might view it as something that's no big deal, and you might be right, but the truth is that it scares me. I wouldn't have posted this on a forum I've never seen if it didn't. I'm not begging for attention, I really need help on this. I couldn't even sleep last night. It may be something small and non threatening, but I don't know. Ever since I posted it and have had people trying to help me through this, I've felt so much more comforted. Please don't try to take that away from me.

And Amber, yes, that's directly quoted. I copied and pasted it.

Here's some more addition info I have come up with. The guy's myspace profile says he is 18, but the numbers in his email indicate that he's about 24. So right now I'm trying to think of everyone I've seen/know that fits that description. Nothing really comes to mind right now though. I'm about to leave for church, and even though I highly doubt anyone from church would pull a stupid stunt like that, I'm at least going to pay attention to everyone and see if anyone is suspicious.

Everyone seems to be getting a different response I'm thinking if this is a ARG and not a weird joke maybe we are supposed to put it all together and then follow the clues. Just a thought.

Hmm...I don't really know if putting them all together would do anything, but it's worth a shot. As far as questions go, do we even have any idea what to ask at this point? And would he really answer us if we did ask something?

Do not answer, but query (ask, catechize, inquire, interrogate, etc.)

If this is an actual ARG (A Game Melonie, controlled but not harmful to the participants in any way), then if there is a character in the game called 'Melonie', then this Melonie character should stop posting beyond the initial post, that is all.

If there is more than one character from a game in this thread, then that's a slight problem too, because this isn't the place for first hand interactions, these boards are Out of Game.

Melonie - Max isn't telling people not to help you, he's enquiring as most ARGers would do in reference to keeping to the rules of the forum.

I know strange emails can be seen as threatening, but you can block them. If you think you're in danger, just block the person and don't look back - they've yet to give any reason NOT to block them.

As far as the riddle goes..

Stranger is a very literal answer, but seems wrong.

'Mask'... perhaps.

Further than that, is the grammar just wrong?

"I am someone, you see, but do not know (who I am)"

or perhaps 'Puzzle'.. 'Enigma'.. 'Question'?
