[GAME] Dead Man's Tale - MSN/Pirates of the Carribbean

yahoo news wrote:
The game called "Dead Man's Tale" blends audiovisual storytelling, chat, collaboration and gameplay to immerse participants in the world of the movie. Users are enticed to join the crew of the Black Pearl, first playing by themselves and then with a friend as they move through challenges that use many of Windows Live Messenger's unique communication, sharing and interactivity features. As users successfully complete each challenge, they unlock details about the "Dead Man's Chest" storyline from game narrator Billy Bones, the movie's skull-and-crossbones title icon who has come to life. Once they conquer the final challenge, players are rewarded with an exclusive film clip from "Dead Man's Chest" that is available only through Windows Live Messenger...

Ooh, this looks pretty fun. Very Happy I'll have to see if I can get any of my friends to play it.

I've gotten most of the way through the 2 player (twice - the answers are the same every time Confused ) but my friend keeps leaving.

I wouldn't mind doing it with you, but I know the early answers, which might take some of the fun from it for you.

Talk about frustration - (or me doing something completely wrong), anything involving Johnny Depp and my love for the movie I'm on board with - signed up for messenger, and was set to play... Ol' boy BillyBones wasn't online and it wouldn't let me do anything. AAAARRRGGGHHH

Hmm, that's odd -- he shows up as online for me.

Also, if you can find a partner, you should be able to play the two-player game without contacting Billy.

I've been through both single and multiplayer, both are little fun timewasters. My partner kept glitching during the maze portion so I did have to skip that, but the rest is pretty standard stuff that you would expect from a puzzly flash game. Everything else is easy when you cooperate.

The endgame is apparently supposed to be a grimacing shock, or so the annoying narrator made it seem. But really, I wasn't paying much attention to what little story it did have (seemed to me like it was made around the puzzles instead of evolving the story, then making puzzles around it).

Also, though its not on the games list, you can access the multiplayer portion right away without contacting Billy by going to the Mess.be Game Launcher.

I had that at one point, I even had him showing as online and woulnd't do anything. If he's online it should automatically start talking when you open the window.

I dunno if this should really be tagged as a trailhead, as it appears to be a stand-alone promo for the movie, and nothing more, but:

there are some fun Easter Eggy things if yr a clever pirate and read carefully. Smile
