I am a smoker, and I do agree with you, but my thinking is this: at least this promotion is a little more interesting than the usual "smoke 20 billion packs so you can redeem the miles on this AAAAMAZING MARLBORO BEACH TOWEL!!!!"

just to let everyone know, in order to get the book you must have somehow gotten on the marlboro mailing list. therefore, this is not some way to get people to smoke, but an incentive for those who already have showed interest towards marlboro in some way or another. it is geared towards those who ALREADY smoke. The reason you MUST BE A SMOKER is because why would they take the chance on giving the million dollar prize to someone who in no way has contributed to them. i don't blame them. and as a smoker who has done this contest every year i'm glad that they are fair enough to only give the chance to people who spend all their money on marlboro ciggarettes.
