The search for 11 year old Meaghan Sprague, daughter of former Aglaura City Councilman Dale Sprague and current Councilwoman Diana Sprague, culminated successfully on Monday evening. Meaghan, who had been missing since Sunday evening, was found in the Pine Barrens by a coordinated effort between local residents in the woods and online participants via the Aglaura IntraNet. The Spragues both extended their profound appreciation to all those who assisted in locating their daughter.

During Search, Dead Body Found in Woods

Monday night's search also turned up an unexpected and gruesome discovery in the Pine Barrens. Searchers ran across the body of Brad Wheeler, a teenager who had been reported missing from Aglaura several weeks ago. Police Chief Dawn Prufrock announced on Tuesday that the missing persons investigation has now been upgraded to a murder case, and stated that the police are looking for Keith McCoy, officially listed as a "person of interest" in the investigation. Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact the police department as soon as possible.

City Council Meeting Focuses on Marzent Plans

Marzent was the main focus of Tuesday's Aglaura City Council meeting. The company presented revised plans for their Phase 2 Redevelopment Plan, along with a proposal for a cooperative Fire Recovery plan. Marzent spokesman Bruce Abbott attempted to get the council to make an immediate vote on the Fire Recovery plan, but the effort was put off by Mayor Dobbs, who said that he would consider the plan with fellow council members and convene a special meeting for a vote if deemed necessary. Mayor Dobbs left soon afterwards due to illness.

The meeting ended with a call-in portion regarding the matter of Keith McCoy, who is a person of interest in the murder of teenager Brad Wheeler. Mr. McCoy phoned into the meeting to explain his side of the story, and several people, with the exception of councilwoman Diana Sprague, also made statements supporting McCoy.

Locals Baffled by Lights in the Woods

Locals who were in the woods on Monday night searching for Meaghan Sprague found something else they didn't expect: fenced-in areas and lights. Bruce Abbott, spokesman for Marzent, explained, "There are many old caves and sinkholes in the woods, and Marzent has fenced those areas off in order to keep people from stumbling into them and injuring themselves... [T]he lights seen the other night were almost certainly people seeing the other search parties and other individuals out looking in the woods."

 		How should we go about calling Bruce on his spin of the situation?

Miles' group was moving east when they saw the lights. Away from town and in a direction where there were no other groups.

Should we AIN Miles (and the others from his group) for confirmation?

 		Rogi, I alread sent AINs to Miles, Cecillia, and Kathy the three members of group 2. Neither have responded yet.

But, yea go ahead and AIN them, the more the better, I guess.
