New "interactive media" office coming to Portland

http://www.gamers.com/index.php?run=news&news_id=6557

Smashing Ideas is an 'entertainment and marketing services studio that creates immersive, interactive content for all screens. '

They are currently working 'several projects for Microsoft'.

Be on the lookout!

Boo!

But ILB was basically MS, so I guess it can't be all bad... Smile

Not that I wouldn't love to see more ARGs and companies prepared to put them out, but what gives you the impression that they're creating ARG or ARG-like experiences? Looking through their portfolio, I don't see anything that would lead me to believe they're headed in that direction. Am I missing the obvious or do ya know something else that you're not telling? Or, is it just a case of listing random advergaming companies and hoping that one day they'll catch on?

Yeah, it looks like a Flash studio from my cursory examination...

And the sub-heading from the article on Gamers.com actually states:

Independent Flash studio moving into the Pearl District

I think the more astounding thing is that it's in the Pearl District... that part of town is soooooo expensive....

It was the "Immersive, interactive content" that caught my eye.

Not necessarily ARG, could be Viral, could be "timewaster", etc....

Specifically, I live in Portland, so I thought I'd just pass it along. Smile
