I don't know much about the chat software they're using but I clicked on the "Recent Room History" option and this text was displayed:
Quote:

chat-admins: what is the time
Thu Aug 24 05:13:55 PDT 2006
Sean_McCarthy: It is late!

Thu Aug 24 05:14:59 PDT 2006
chat-admind: derwerwe
Thu Aug 24 05:14:59 PDT 2006

If I was Sean and I had developed a technology that would change the world DRAMATICALLY, I would a) be a hell of a lot more excited about it, b) be a lot more professional about it, and c) be insulted by a great deal of these questions being thrown at him.

I just can't get over that it seems like this guy isn't very professional. If this company is for real, and the product is for real (which I very much doubt it is), they must have some extremely intelligent people working for them. Sean just isn't coming off like that though, unless he is merely a figure head for the company and the intelligence is hidden in its employees.

Bah, it's delayed for 3 minutes. I asked them why they appealed for scientists on the web instead of a more vetted institution - opening themselves up for spam!

They said they'll make their scientist decisions by the end of the month. That's crazy, verifying scientists in such a short period of time.

Oh, and so far, I've see Quo Vadimus as a question-asker - who else (who is an ARGer) has had a question answered?

And then this site goes down...odd

Anyways I just noticed that the text from the webchat shows an strange error:

2nd line: "chat-admins: what is the time"
6th line: "chat-admind: derwerwe"

I would have assumed that the bit before the colon was computer generated, as in an ID. It just seems odd that there would be a typo there

If my question goes to Sean you'll recognize the name. Although I've seen other people get multiple questions answered, so far I got bubkus.

Sean has his talking points down well. Trolling the company line very well I might add.
[PolitcalOpinion]If Bush had Sean's handlers they may even be able to make him look less like an idiot.[/PolitcalOpinion]

I agree with schummbo about this. The chat is not clearing anything up and IMHO leading more to the conclusion that this is all bogus. Not necessarily and ARG, but definitely bogus.

Edit:
Submitted my question AGAIN:
Quote:
Q: You mention NDAs prohibit disclosure of previous reviews performed by scientists / engineers. Are you saying that you wrote an NDA that prohibits the scientists / engineers AND YOU from discussing those reviews?
Your question has been submitted to the moderator.

He's said he's sure the media frenzy will blow over like it does for all things.

Right.

Hello, preventing worldwide ecological disaster?

Hello, defeating reason for the conflict in Iran?

No, if this were true, Sean's life would never, ever be the same.

I've also received the request for more data regarding my scientific credentials.

Should I reply?

How realistic should I be?

In my opinion, I wouldn't even reply. I don't feel that theres any chance this is a game anymore. Whether or not they're produced what they've said they've produced, I think at least these guys are taking themselves seriously. Just my opinion though Smile

I'd LOVE to be convinced that it is real. Sh**, I'd be so much [i]more excited[/] about free energy than I am about it being a story!

... but he makes it hard to believe, that's for sure. The actions of this company do not at all follow the predictable patterns of business - Entrepreneur instead of a more scientific magazine (I don't buy the "we wanted to make them angry enough to respond - and it worked! line), the public web site with newsletter on the first page.

And most of all - asking the public to submit their scientific information instead of reaching through educational institutions or other things more reliable than the internet. At the least, they've got hundreds and hundreds of bunk responses they'll have to shuffle through.

I agree. This definitely isn't a game.

Have they produced what they think they have? probably not. But I'm pretty sure *they* think they have. I just can't see why they're doing what they're doing oherwise.

I totally agree with you, and I'm certainly not saying this is real. I'm just saying that I believe THEY think its real Smile Free energy is just not something that is going to happen. I'm not convinced this is a game though. I think they're just really bad at what they're doing. If the whole company is naive enough to believe they've created a free energy machine, then I'm guessing they actually believe that this is the correct way to go about proving it to the world.

I agree that this seems very unARGy but one thing still bugs me. Sorry to sound like a spoilt child who's not getting his way but could someone look at this and tell me if it looks odd to them too...

My gut reaction is that there is: more than one chat-admin, distinguished by letter, and that the "what is the time" and "derwerwe" are nothing more than random inputs to the chat program to test that it is working properly. I would have put in "a;sdlkjfa;skdljfa;sdkjlf" myself, but maybe Admin D is using a DVORAK keyboard or something.
