IMO, I don't think the cards are THAT connected to the rest of the story. While it's true that there were some odd artifacts that were added to wave 4 cards that almost certainly make up the final puzzle that will lead us to the cube, I don't think that finding the cube should influence your card buying/solving. I like the puzzles. I like the cards. I don't have them all yet, but if the cube was found tomorrow, I would still complete the set. The cards stand alone. They don't need the story and the story doesn't really need the cards.

But to get to your question, MC will want to get rolling with Season 2. They can't stall their business. If we don't get it together and find the thing soon enough, they will poke and prod us where needed. I'm sure they have a timetable or window of when they expect it to be found. My guess is from Wave 4 release until the end of the year.

But that's my opinion. Maybe someone else can dig up the relevant quotes from interviews etc. that address this. They have all been non-committal, but you can probably draw some conclusions about how they were said.

Yes there are only four waves of cards. And, I agree, that we probably have all the information we need to find the Cube now - that doesn't mean we won't be getting more information. I don't have any real sense of how close anyone is to finding the Cube - I can say that it hasn't come up in chat much at all for the past two weeks, even after the SF event.

No idea if the Cube has to be found before Season 2 starts. I think people were assuming the Cube would be found, but I don't see that as an absolute requirement, it depends on what happens with the story I guess.

As for catching up, if you listen to the Podcasts and go over the story so far from the PPC site - you will catch up very quickly.

About buying cards, that is a tough one, it is up to you I suppose. I like the cards, whether it is worth investing in them now, I guess it may depend in part on your financial situation. You can get a lot of the red -purple cards from Ebay for not that much. Sorry if that isn't too helpful.

I reckon Season 2 before Christmas to cash in on present sprees. Although maybe that's the purpose served by the boardgame and Season 2 in the new year. Start of Season 2 within 6 months.
