yes it's very likely that signing up for new emails might have images already completed for missions. If only 5 segments haven't been submitted, then I'm guessing you've got a 5 in 20 chance of signing up and receiving one of those unsubmitted segments. Otherwise, chances are your mission will already be complete, and you likely won't get an email with an image anyway.

Could they possibly not give out the last 5 and say they were intercepted or some other twist?

Landa already sent all the pieces at least once , actually if you look at the wiki we have already the whole message , it just happens that some of us did not send the text back to be verified ( hmm ... there is weezel's problem also :s ) ... which prompts my question , why not wait 24 hours and send the parts that are not known to have been sent through the accounts that did not get an email ? it might work if the accounts are not bound to the images !

Cause we're not sure which of the 5 we are missing. I mean, I guess the accounts that never got an email can try submitting all 20 parts.

Not all 20 ... from the link in my previous post we know 12 that have been posted , those that may be pending are :

o1eb ( see my post bellow )
p1dt
vortusd
vortus4e
p1d
vortus4
p1b

... so the missing five are between these .

ETA : weezel , is yours in the above 8 ? I'm just not sure at the moment .

Ok I did just what I said and sent the code for 01eb :

and Japan. Needless to say, they know little about our plan to wrest control of internet resources from their

.. from the first account I opened ( to which no email has been sent even when I changed my email adress ) ... now I have the 'You have no missions at this time.' and we have 16/20 pieces ... so this actually work .

ETA : Before I submited this text I made sure that the Landa assignement was not forcing an operative to send his own code , actually the assignement is in plural :

Quote:
Level 1 Operatives. At this point, you should have received your extraction mission. You have been given a twentieth of a message we have received from the UN. You must extract your message and submit it for us to collate. All operatives have received something. Good luck, and God speed.

Also since first day I've been intrigued but the God speed . could be a misspelling but could it be that we need to do this FAST ?

Well let's hypotethize here , your message contains Landa and New York and actually gives it's whole sense to the letter ( it's what revealed it could be a message from the UN ) .. it could be ALL the other codes must be sent before yours become active ?! ... yeah just an hypothesis and maybe too far fetched , still it will make sense .

Problem is, mine is now marked as completed with the 'resend email' trick below.. And when it did, the portion of the extraction didn't increase by one number..

HOPEFULLY that means it just needed to mark me as completed, but someone else submitted the same segment and it was accepted.

Submitted the text for vortus4. It was accepted and increased the percentage to 17/20.

I am going to work through the rest of them right now and try and get it to 20.

Alrighty.. I went through the remainder of the missing pieces, here's what I got.
p1d - Submitted. percentage 18/20
vortusd - Submitted. percentage 19/20
p1dt - Submitted. Accepted. No change
vortus4e - Submitted. Accepted. No change.

That still leaves my same piece, m1z6. I tried resubmitting it. It will NOT be accepted, no matter how I do it. With/out leading trailing spaces. It can't possibly be the right text to match their system. Perhaps a typo on the checking end?

So now we're at 19/20.

I hope you're not creating new accounts to send them , my idea was to use the accounts which already existed and which had no emails sent to them ...

Anyway , the possible missing parts are now :

p1dt
vortusd
vortus4e
p1d
m1z6

1 part still missing .

EDIT : changed with info from above post

Yes, I created a string of dummy accounts. All that was needed was a name and password. You didn't even need to submit an email address. Previously, I was actually creating email accounts just in case to receive the attachment.

If anyone else still has their mission as uncomplete, they can keep trying to get the missing piece accepted.

I'm pretty sure that's what it is thebruce , I tried all combinations with trailspaces , carriage returns , even the 'ö' that appears before 'they' and unix '/n/r' !
So since sending a notice to the PM's through the extraction box is useless ( that just checks for the validity of your input and do not hold your string ) ... I sent an email to 'taskmaster splat landa-systems dot com' ( that's the email adress the images were sent from and it does not look to be automated ) :

Quote:
Landa ,

All extractions received , 19 fragments sent , fragment m1z6 corrupted , extraction :

***
they can't possibly understand. They've already wielded the power before, and when they did,
***

IS NOT VALID . PLEASE RESEND ASAP

Operative Otawi

I hope they'll look at it and get the idea Razz .. now , wait and see !
