[AIN] Dale, /"treasure"/

Hi Jetamo,

Sure I remember you. Sorry for being out of touch the last few days but it's been a while since I've had both power and an Internet connection at the same time. The whole area really took a pounding from the tailend of this Ernesto storm the last few days, and it's made it near impossible for me to stay in touch with everyone or even get my regular work done. Hopefully the worst of that is behind us now though, although I fear it's going to cause me to spend what should be a day off today working to catch up.

It's convinced me even more though that I needed to go ahead with my plans to find a secure area to post some new information for my online friends to see, since one of them might have been able to make some headway on the ideas I've been putting together if they could have been working on it while I was offline. It's too late to change that now, but there's no time like the present to do what I need to do also. So here you go. I hope this makes sense to you.

I've hidden this \"treasure\" in the realm of fierce dragons, in a forest deep within. There, in a grove of his favorite trees, you'll find a man with six fingers.

Good luck.

Dale

Ok so it's something hidden on Dales Synthasia webiste. By adding /forest/treasure.html, I got a login screen. I've tried using variations of Digitalis as UN and Ashgrove as PW, but so far no luck.

*edit I don't want to confuse anybody, the login screen pops up when you add /forest/. So use http://synthasia.com/forest/ to access login screen. Nice solve gb!

I'm adding the information Dale has provided here for archive purposes.

Glad you found your way here, to this little safe haven
I've made for sharing information with you, things that may
not be safe to let just anyone see. Especially whoever's
been outside watching the place the last week or so. Even
in the midst of the terrible storms we had, they were there
the whole time. Bruce and I have been joking about just going
out there and confronting them, but we're not quite ready to
tip our hands yet. We need just a little more time.

I've been promising you a report on what Bruce and I found
on our last little trip out in the Pine Barrens, or maybe
I should say below the Pine Barrens. Before Marzent started
patrolling the fenced in areas out there with security teams.
To make a long story short, we were lucky enough to find what
we think is the same cave that Keith filmed awhile ago, before
he took off with the missing masks. It had the same sort of
sci-fi-ish machines and equipment in it, that's for sure, some
of it apparently old mainframe computer equipment from years
ago. Neither Bruce or I had any idea of just what it was we
were looking at, and I tried to grab a few pictures with my cell
phone but they barely came out at all. I'll post them here when
I have more time, but I don't think they show anything Keith's
video didn't. The whole place felt somehow unreal or even
surreal, like a dream or a movie set or something. There were
pipes and conduits running from the computers and strange machines
back into the stone walls of the cave, and little else there,
although there were signs that perhaps some other furniture or
machines had been there at one time too, from marks on the floor.

One thing was for certain though, Marzent's fingerprints were all
over it, from their logo on the fences outside to the hastily
scrawled M's in places on the cave walls below. more

So just what the Hell is going on out there in the woods? What
is Marzent up to, and why do the masks seem so important to them?
Bruce has been doing his best to see what he can learn from the
inside, by staying there to all hours of the night sometimes,
but it's feeling like we may have reached the end of what we are
going to be able to find there, at least with the access we have
now. It doesn't help the situation that my ex, actually that may
be our ex's considering Bruce and Di's current status, has been
putting even more hours in, it seems. Bruce said she's even been
taking Meaghan in there with her, since there's no one at home to
watch her anymore. I can't tell you how much that pisses me off.
Is there no end to that woman's ambitions or anything she won't
sacrifice to get ahead?

Anyway, while Bruce has been doing his best at Marzent, I've been
going over and over everything that has happened, everything I've
learned since this all started, in an attempt to put the pieces
together in a way that makes sense. All the way back to that poem
or rhyme I heard in my dreams and from Digitalis himself in the
form of a prophesy of sorts. Damn, I had almost forgotten about
him, poor guy. I think maybe I could use his help and advice right
now, even though Bruce keeps saying that he couldn't have been
anything too special if he's let a little thing like death stop
him from communicating with me. I wonder about his sense of humor
sometimes, but at least he's trying to keep us both sane.

"When six have fallen, it begins." That has to be referring to the
six masks that disappeared back at the beginning of summer, doesn't
it? But if it does, "what" begins, and how do six masks that Sarah
made have any influence on it?

I'll continue this later. I think I just heard Bruce come home.

got basically the same message with a couple of extra things....

Wow, look at that. I have both power and an Internet connection at the same time again. .....
Good luck.

And no, I haven't actually seen Sarah recently, as we've both been busy, me with what you already know and her with trying to get a library set up in that old house of hers.

So NO ONE is seeing Sarah these days Sad

Custom intro, for archival purposes:

Dale wrote:
Thanks for the warning. Believe me, I am doing everything I can to stay safe, and it certainly doesn't hurt to have Bruce staying here too for a little extra back-up.

And yes, we both also think that the guys who have been hanging around outside are probaly the same ones who killed Brad and have been chasing Keith around the country.

I'm convinced even more that...

There is something that brothers me about all this from what Dale says:
bold is mine

And Bruce said this in his last blog entry:
Quote:
There more evidence of his instability—before I fell asleep last night, he and I were watching the Neil Young documentary, Heart of Gold, and he kept going on about seeing someone watching the house from the outside. I checked three times and saw nobody.

I'm hoping he can keep it together—we have to know what that stuff was doing in the cave and why they sealed it up and I don't think I can put this baby to bed without him.

I'm in the ocean, Dale. The waves are big, but the water's fine and if we drown, well, at least we'll go quietly.

Am I missing something, or is Bruce not seeing what Dale sees and he merely appeasing Dale or does Bruce want us to believe that Dale has problems.

Dale Will Check On Sarah

Quote:
Mountain Girl,

I just wanted to let you know that, thanks to your suggestion (which I also got from several other of my online friends), I am going to check in on Sarah today. I'll let you know how she's doing after I do.

Dale
