Why, yes. Yes, I do. Btw, nice save!

So the first X is always in one of the first 26 squares, as before, but this time we have a minimum of vowels and a lot of Xs and Zs and other ugly letters, so it's unlikely to be the same direct correspondence. The first X never appears in square 4, square 17, or square 19; it appears in other squares anywhere from once to seven times.

The second X is always in position 27, 28, or 29. The dot is always in one of the last ten squares. The dot is never in square 30 when the second X is in square 27; never in 27 or 34 when the X is in 28; and never in 29, 31, or any of the last four squares when the X is in 29.

We also don't have the same nice even groupings: for example, there is only one grid with the second X in square 27 and the dot in square 31, but there are 13 grids with the second X in square 27 and the dot in square 32.

You are so much better at this then I am..... could the first X be the position of A?

EDIT.... answer NO as at least one square has more than 26 between the X's Rolling Eyes

Funny you should ask.

Informal frequency analysis suggests that the second X and the dot may determine the letter. Treating the position of the second X as the first digit -- 0, 1, or 2 -- and the position of the dot as the second digit -- 0 through 9 -- would mean 4 As, 13 Es, 6 Is, 5 Ls, 7 Ns, 8 Os, 8 Rs, 7 Ss, and 6 Ts... and no Js, Ks, Qs, Vs, Xs, or Zs. Nice distribution. I like it.

So the first X should somehow tell us where the letters go. Give me a few more minutes...

EDIT: removed question as I figured out what Shad0 is saying.... although not quite sure once you have X = 0 Dot = 5 where you get what letter that is.... Rolling Eyes

You're assuming that I'm right, which is not yet a safe assumption. Mr. Green

It's the dot that's always in the one of the last ten squares, not the second X. The second X is always in position 27, 28, or 29 (those are the third, fourth, and fifth squares in the second to last row).

Okay, here's a list of the letters corresponding to each position for the first X:

Code:
1: NLHWS
2: R
3: UOO
4: -none-
5: WRAR
6: FB

7: ONSIN
8: SLEPE
9: ME
10: O
11: EESGHE
12: LPAEII

13: T
14: F
15: AAI
16: LEWT
17: -none-
18: NYEDNN

19: -none-
20: YT
21: IIRGS
22: RSO
23: SETFE
24: ETBT

25: URLHO
26: NROPERO

So who here is really good at anagrams?

Edit: I took too long to answer, eh? Embarassed

05 would be an E, the fifth letter of the alphabet.

'Nother edit to fix errors in #8, #9, and #16. Thanks, Catherwood!

This is the quote at the bottom of page two. Couldn't find it in google.

Which is also the quote on the knowledge page that enaxor found yesterday.

Good heavens, I hope not!

/me checks

Nope. Konamouse was just preserving the "step two" quote in this thread, I think.

Edit: I gotta go. Someone solve this before I get back, 'kay?

OK so there is no 'rhyme or reason' to how I got this... HELP jumped out at me so then I took out letters for 'will you help us' since that is a recurring phrase.... then worked from there..... used all the letters and not completely happy with order but thought I'd throw it out for you all to take a look....

Quote:
RINGS SEEM (these two words not used below)

NO SON BORN IN WAR
WE ARE RESPONSIBLE
WILL YOU HELP US
SET FREE HOPE OR FAIL
TRY TO FIND THE GATE

or perhaps?
Quote:
WE TRY
NO SON BORN IN WAR
RINGS ARE RESPONSIBLE
WILL YOU HELP US
SET FREE HOPE OR
SEEM TO FAIL
FIND THE GATE

Now where is Shad0 or ANYONE to 'makes sense' of my madness? Rolling Eyes

Obviously I need that help as here is another mess....
Quote:
REBORN SON IS NOT WHO HE SEEMS
WE ARE PRAYING YOU WILL HELP
RESPONSIBLE TO SET FREE
RUN FIND GATE OR FAIL
T

Quote:
PRIDE TURNING FATES
REBORN SON IS NOT WHO HE SEEMS
PRAYING YOU WILL HELP
WE ARE TO SET FREE NOBLES OR FAIL

Bang Head So there are CLEARLY too many possibilities from just anagram approach that make some sense..... I don't see a 'pattern' from what Shad0 posted so I'm getting the H.... out of here for a bit then one of you can come back and have a Idea moment Rolling Eyes

Re: step two

I would make the following corrections to the chart above:
Shad0 wrote:

8: SLEPE
9: ME

16: LEWT
...
Otherwise, our data agrees.
