[TRAILHEAD?] More X360 Puzzles? | hex168.com

I don't know if you guys saw this, but somebody posted some strange pictures on several xbox forums. It seems to be some kind of puzzle.

Now, I haven't been around much (which is something I'm trying to correct), so I don't know if this has been discussed before.

The pictures have been posted by a user named Lutz. I didn't dig into it much, so I'm just passing a link so those that might be interested can go take a look. It might be MS related, it might be just a fan-made thing. Either way, I thought it would be worth to post here.

I'd try to avoid teamxbox. That place used to be better. It's becoming a clone of gamefaqs, with all the immature posters ...

Hey Waters! Long time no see.

Interesting images... I wonder if they're photoshopped or actually appeared.

Interesting to say the least... some are calling them crop circles but they're not really crops. Doing them in the sand with no footsteps seems odd as well, so I'm going to say photoshop for now. The one on the grass is also not a crop circle... looks more like a manicured lawn. The oddball picture with the military dudes is also enigmatic.

As pointed out elsewhere - hex 168 = dec 360

some suggestions it might be related to Xbox Arcade (since Hexic HD comes on the HD with X360)

4orty2wo Entertainment

Quote:
But for all the mysterious portends in the body of the "tip" e-mail, there's no question about its humble origins in Microsoft's hype machine. Bearing the subject line "TIP: the beginning is nigh for 360 fans," the e-mail was sent by none other than 4orty2wo Entertainment, the marketing firm which originated Ilovebees.com.

From Gamespot's Rumor Control:
Rumor Control link

Apparently an email from 4orty2wo entertainment was sent to gaming press tipping them off to hex168.com.

It is being discussed in Console/Video Game Discussion at More X360 Puzzles?

Interestingly, Gamespot Rumor Control says 4orty2wo sent out an email tipping press to hex168.com (hex 168 = decimal 360 btw)...

I just read this at gamespot, surprised it hadn't popped up here. If this is 4orty 2wo it could be interesting, and they seem to have half decent evidence.

End time

From viewing the source, it appears to me that the countdown is supposed to end on EDT=2005,10,18,12,00,00 (October 18th, 2005 @ 12:00 EDT). However, my clock currently says 3:47am and the countdown is at 3 days, 10 hours, 12 minutes, blah, blah... which would make it 4am at 3 days, 10 hours. 10 hours plus 4 hours makes it 14 hours or 2pm. So the clock is off by one hour since that would mean that the countdown would end at 1pm EDT, not noon.

Yep, seems this is 4orty2wo's new game. We need to make a forum for this one I think.

Also, this may be a rumor, but didn't incitatus say that 4orty2wo was hiring Kristen Rutherford again? I did remember incit said that they were going to have a ARG again around this time. Seems he was right Very Happy . Maybe incit will chime in here.

E-seer prefers yetis!

Note the headline in the page, "HEX ALERT: E-SEER PREFERS YETIS!". This is just a hunch, but that oddly constructed phrase sure smacks of an anagram, doesn't it?
