I think if some one wanted to gain Foo's trust then become a spy they could and it wouldn't be a bad idea to do so. but all information must be taking from Foo directly and not from UF. I don't think they should even post the stolen info on Foo's section of this Forum. That way If its posted on Brackins and not Foo's Its legit.

I'm going to retitle the foo and bracken threads to "information from bracken" and "information from foo" and we can post information that you get from there in those threads - that makes it a bit more clear that we can work both sides and that threads are just to keep the info straight. And, if you would happen to get a puzzle or have information worthy of it's own thread - that's fine to add. Just use a [FOO] or [BRACKEN] tag on it so that we know instantly that it's directly from one of those two characters.

Are we thinking that Montreal is an in-game character?

I would agree here...

I think that what is OOG is obviously OOG. However, anything a character says, in character, period, is IG!

Therefore, you can choose to screw over the other side (which is entirely up to you) or you can choose to be loyal to one and not the other...

However, if something was found entirely just here, or something, then it's not IG and should really not be used.

The idea is that (and this is real "meta") it's really the puppetmaster's job to deal with how information is flowing. Should they give it out, there's nothing to stop you from spying on Foo, by saying you're his pal, and then giving that info to Brackin. That's called gameplay. If the PM's don't want that, then they simply have to build it into their game to prevent that.

So if say Foo says "My secret lair is located in Disneyland" (no that didn't happen, just using a completely impossibly random situation for example purposes only!)

So say he says that. If it happened in game in any way, it's game on for anyone to use.

Them's the "rules". However, you can choose to obey Foo's wishes and do nothing but protect him with that info.

Don't forget, Foo (or Brackin for that matter) could be feeding false information (in-game, in-character), expecting that info to get to Brackin.

As with all ARGs, never assume. Always question motives until you get concrete evidence of people's aims. No one is "good" or "bad" until we get good evidence of it. "Trust no one" (except your fellow forum members Smile)

This is especially true with this one. On Foo's side we know we will get a traitor. I think we don't have a traitor yet, but one of us will become one in the future. Perhaps someone will get information that will make him change his mind about Foo. Maybe me!

So "Trust no one", "Not even yourself"....

I'm going to interrogate myself now.

Also in that same vein... it's total spec, but just like Sente in PXC...

You never know... people are making a lot of decisions based on Fujimoto's information, which could also be false.

For all we know, he's a dictator who is trying to make the world even more under his control by feeding Foo lies about the world he exists in...

Perhaps in the Future, Brackin is the "hero" rebelling against a dangerous and ruthless Fujimoto, who is willing to even change the past to ensure his goals are approved and total...

So not saying, but I'm just saying... Smile

I don't trust president Fujimoto too much, but I do trust Foo. Brackin just let some corporation took over his project and all he could do was whine. Foo is fighting the man!

But I think you may be right. Untill we get to see some more about the future, we should start to treat president Fujimoto with a little bit of distrust. Maybe he's just some kid on his basement, trying to do the biggest trans-time prank of all times.

Well, generally speaking, it's good to trust the PMs (unless, obviously, they're visibly doing something that suggests that trust is misplaced) but not necessarily the characters.

The PMs are telling a story, and in an ARG it's usually a mystery story of some sort. Stories have twists, and if you knew everything up front, it wouldn't pay to sit around for the whole story.

Plus ARGs are stories that you actively investigate, and part of that investigating mindset is questioning what you see and trying to find out whether it's actually what it looks like initially. Smile

Bracken and Foo

Hi everyone. I've been kind of following this ARG and decided to try something different. I don't think it is much help though. I want to point out, however, that the "pm" in my email address are my initials, not a designation. I also deleted my last name from
"Pam xx"

I sent an email to BOTH Bracken and Foo as follows:

Thu, 16 Nov 2006 19:46:37 -0800 (PST)
From: "Pam Mxxxxxxx" pm_butchSPLATyahoo.com
Subject: Deus City
To: albrackin@gmail.com, foo.defiantSPLATgmail.com

Hello Gentlemen,

Your Time Communication Project for UTD has caught my attention. It appears the two of you have generated quite a conflict. I find it upsetting that two such intelligent individuals, who, together, have created such an inspiring work have fallen to odds.

The institution which appropriated the work the two of you created together is the real evil here. Whether a revered institution or a shadow government there is no denying that you, gentlemen, are the ones who have the only true right to pursue the information which your work JOINTLY discovered.

Perhaps you should ahve a meeting of the minds so to speak and resolve the issues between you in order to seek answers. I would be willing to act as an intermediary to insure neither of you is shorted in any way.

Please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Pam

I'm going to trust you Pam. I believe in trusting people. I've learned that Foo has likely hacked the feed and may even be receiving new transmissions daily. If so then he must be getting help from outside - and I believe he has a following to this effect.

He has taken what was once a group effort for truth and exploration and turned it into his own personal power play. There are those of us who do not believe this is right. Search your heart Pam and ask yourself if stealing, lying, hiding information, and distrust is right?

Foo has been ignoring every channel of communication I have for him and I believe that nothing you can say will sway him... but if you want to try - if you think you can - I will listen when he is willing to talk.

-AB

No. We are above that.
I no longer care what Brackin does - he is inconsequential at this point.
The truth will vindicate us.

_Foo Defiant!

I guess I got told, huh? Any suggestions?
