i set up a trigger to say "hello" if turingprinciple ever showed up on AIM... well, guess what :D

 		[RANT] Ergh has to be AIM?!?! A year or so ago they had an 'update' which CRASHED my computer..... damaged the registry.... I swore I'd never download any AOL related software again.... guess that means I'll be missing out on TP interactions Rolling Eyes Evil or Very Mad Sad oh well.....

 		Try Trillian, the basic one is free, and works fine. You just have to have an aol user name/pw.

It doesn't have the mess that aol has, it's just like IM for yahoo or windows messenger.

Thanks! I had installed Trillian back when I was trying to get into chat here.... I hadn't played with the IM piece since I hadn't solved getting around my firewall for ICQ stuff.... guess my rant was a good idea Wink

 		(TP) turingprinciple in CTW1
turingprinciple was a bot in CTW, who became "emergent".
It was fun to converse with her, trying to ask the right question, or use a certain keyword that would unlock additional information.
If you search these archives you'll find more.
The trick to talking with her, was to ask only one question, then wait for her response. It sometimes took her up to 20 mins to answer.

That was then. Things may be different now...we'll have to wait and see.

 		Just found some cool help for the turingprinciple ai bot.

Here is the main bot page

Scroll down and click on the picture of the girl labeled "Chat with me" and you will be able to get some experience with talking to a bot.

And this is turingprinciple's old site.

How did I find it:
First from the source code here http://www.chasingthewish.net/credits1.html

and from that souce code you find the link to
http://turingprinciple.runabot.com/

But, this will be a good way to get familiar with conversing with a bot. Heck, i guess you can make your own.
The forum there is helpful, too.

 		ooh, that is a much better site, a lot easier to use. Click on "Chat with A.L.I.C.E." to experience what it might be like to chat with turingprinciple.
