So I actually watched the videos tonight, number 3 was kinda spooky, 1 and 2 just seemed like something you would find on the hard drive of a kid who just shot up his high school...

Ok, so we have a rehash of an ARG that was attempted in 2003 and 2005. Still not enough clues to get a grip on anything, if there's anything to grip.

Please, feel free to call me mycroft or mike. The "xxx" is just there because I run into too make Holmes/Heinlein fans to manage to get the correct name - and mycroftxxx is still a reference to The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.

First time post - got sucked in by seeing the cassieiswatching thing play out, but this thread piqued my interest enough to register! Dark images certainly, and I can sympathise with the misgivings some might have about a potential fascist tie-in, but there is also something that hints of an engaging moral complexity about the premise so far...

A doctor, cut off from his family history, who is the name sake of a German war criminal... but a criminal whose death sentence was commuted to imprisonment, largely because of percieved double standards on the part of the Allied prosecution.
The third video features a quotation from Jean Rostand, a French biologist who campaigned against nuclear arms and capital punishment... but also advocated eugenics as a positive tool for human progress (I'll have to read up more on his thoughts in this direction - I'm not really clear on the details...)

I'm not sure if it will be easy to trace any of the images used, but the doctor's signature implies that perhaps they are not meant as images of pain or brutality, but as metaphors for some kind of perverse and utopian form of human reconstruction (I'm thinking particularly of the segmented body on the table and the man/beast hybrids), or at the very least it hints at a necessity for waste as an engine of progress.

Of course it also implies that the doctor is not so innocent.

Interesting findings. I'll be getting into this one too. My levels of tolerance are pretty high, so as long as it doesn't get too much gruesome than those vids I'll be fine.

I wrote a message to the good doctor telling him I may be able to help with AV. Waiting for a reply.

I took the plunge and emailed him too - suggested he find some free webspace to host his additional material, or failing that to send it directly to me and I'll see what I can do about getting it hosted.

EDIT: Ok... the doctor has replied and from his comments 'AV' probably know/s about him and his work. Here's the email:
