[EMAIL] Wes September 13 - Statue - False Memories etc...

This email is a reply to two emails I sent. I asked Wes how he could come back from the dead. I also told him I had spread the word of his return.

Quote:
Sorry my reply is on the late side, I had to go into town for a bit to look into a few things and it took a lot longer than I expected, and when I got back, I intended to lay down for a catnap and fell asleep for almost 13 hours. Keeping a low profile is quite time consuming and completely exhausting. I can't really afford the sleep but on the upside, I'm feeling recharged.

Thank you for getting the word out to those you trust, and yes I've heard from a few people who are doing the same.

It's true I was indeed at the "Devil Hunt" Iris organized, but things didn't go exactly as planned. My goal was to meet Peter that night, not Phyllis. That was actually a mistake. As far as the statue Iris found in the wall at my old place, I placed it there with the intention of eventually lead Dale, Iris, and the others to it as a way of reawakening their memories.

As for my "death", I'm not sure that I did die. I don't remember it at all. But, if I did die, I would have to assume the power that changed everything in Aglaura is the same power that "brought me back". But I think it's more likely that my "death" was a result of false memories induced by whatever power changed the entire area.

Here's my interactions

Latest from Wes:
Quote:
No Carol, I'm not a John Doe and I wasn't at Klepsydra, I don't know who Turing Principle was looking for or why. Technology can be a powerful ally, has it told you what its motivations are?

In the hands of the wrong people technology can also be a powerful enemy, and I don't think that Marzent is all it presents itself to be. I think I see where their visions lie, and their intentions are anything but honorable.

And yes by all means let Sam know, just be gentle with her. She's not apt to take it lightly, if she believes you at all. I'm quite nervous about contacting her in person, especially after what happened when I met up with J.D. One of the greatest things I learned on my journey is that meaning in life comes from the way you live it - with the people you surround yourself with, and the love and knowledge you share with them. Even the deepest, most hidden secrets of the world are meaningless if a man is by himself and doesn't have love and friendship in his life. I've missed these friends of mine, and they need someone well versed in what we will face, and I owe them that.

I must be careful because I have learned much, and there are a few "groups" I've pissed off during my quest for this knowledge, some have been more understanding than others. There have been times I've been followed and times I've been threatened, but most importantly there have been times I've almost lost my courage and my way.

I'm now on course.

Wes, Sam is torn up about the accident & your "death" - can I tell her I've heard from you? She cares so much about you!

Were you at klepsydra? Are you the john Doe that the turing principle was looking for?

Help me to know more so that I can help you!

Carol

Quote:
Thank-you Carol for the welcome, it wasn't exactly the kind of reception I got from J.D. Willingham when I first heard what was going on in Aglaura and decided to come back to help, but understandably so. I realize that not everyone is going to believe I'm alive, but you must tell those you trust Carol, time is running out. Please be careful about who and how you tell about my return. I'm trying to put things to right as best I can.

This is what I recieved

Sorry I took so long to reply Dashcat, I was delayed in town, and then quite simply - fell asleep for far longer than I intended.

In addition to a wealth of knowledge I found on my journey - some of it enigmatical and relevant, some not so much - the biggest thing I discovered is that there's really no place like home. Shit, now I'm sounding like Dorothy. What I mean is that meaning in life comes from the way you live it - with the people you surround yourself with, and the love and knowledge you share with them. Even the deepest, most hidden secrets of the world are meaningless if a man is by himself and doesn't have love and friendship in his life.

As far as where I found it, well the knowledge and enlightenment I found in many different places, in many different forms, and from many different people. Some parted willingly with it, some not so easily. Some took a great effort to attain, while others were given freely.

Learning how my life has meaning, however, I found that nugget by searching my soul after I saw what was happening on the homefront.

Yes, poor J.D., quite a few people seem to think that it wasn't our meeting that caused his "illness". However, I assure you that - although I don't doubt the history of that old house may have affected him in some strange manner - it was truly his seeing me that pushed him over the edge.

I don't know of Simon Magus, but I do know some of the history of the Mystai and I would exercise at least some caution in dealing with any group or organization with their past.

As for John Doe #6, I have no clue who he is, sorry.

And yes, this old soul certainly does remember you!

WK

I sent to him

Quote:
Dear Wes,

What did you find on your quest? Where did you go to find it? I have so many questions for you. When and where exactly did you meet JD Willingham? Unless you are the evil thing that resides in his basement then I don't think you were responsible for driving him over the edge.

Do you know of the Mystai and Simon Magus? Do you know who John Doe #6 is? Do you remember me?

Of course he said he remembered me...duh. I should have asked him why Sam is a woman in this reality. I am tending toward the idea that at the very moment of Dale's wish being reversed, Sam or Wes made a wish.

Is it interesting that Wes knows of the Mystai but not Simon Magus?

Yes, that is interesting. I'm actually quite thrilled at this:

We don't know whether to trust Wes/Roman, and we don't know whether to trust the Mystai, but at least one is not trusting the other. Small, I know, but it at least clarifies things.
