Then they might wish to wait till the end of August at least. Me thinks we're not quite done yet.

Plus launching a game at the height of vacation season = good way to escape people's attention....

Me thinks they're not prepared and obviously stalling us. Or maybe they have nothing at all and want to see if they can keep putting it off before people lose intrest.

Or maybe they are waiting for CTW to finish, and just keep guessing when that might be?

hehe that would be pretty stupid, as long as there are people still playing and enjoying the story and interacting with the characters why end it? in theory an arg could be pretty much open ended couldn't it? or at least well extended. As someone pointed out, (can't remember who) the PM's play on the investigators reactions, we kinda create the story as it goes partly. Myself I really hope Acheron + others aren't being held back just because of CTW - we're all capable of investigating more than one case at a time I think?! heh well maybe - but i'm sure the longer the others do hold off (if that's what they are doing) the longer CTW will continue.
I appreciate we all only have a certain amount of time to dedicate to ARG but I don't mind delegating my time, sometimes it would be a welcome relief to spend some time on another
it's gotta be hard for PM's with CTW being so established at the moment, I gotta sympathize a little, on the other hand they've got plenty more time to create something to blow our minds!! heh
just my own opinion obviously

well... Well, here we are - August 31st and no changes to the Virtuquest site!
I'd really like to know whether I've missed the boat here...

i dunno I would have assumed that this error page was the first riddle into the game, except for the poor track record I've seen from Virtuquest - two delays this month and now 'technical difficulties'. Could just be some terrible luck on their part.
But just to be sure, I started speculating on the phrase "invites all to PASS GO". Monopoly? So I was guessing at baltic.html and mediterranean.html, but no luck. Perhaps someone else has the board and a little more persistence...

what is pass GO? Just some googling incase it jogs someone creative juices and this really is a clue (not a delay).
GO.com was the combination of disney and infoseek.

Disney announced on Monday that it will combine its Buena Vista Internet Group with Infoseek to form a single Internet entity called Go.com, which will be reflected in a new stock symbol, "GO," a tracking stock that will trade on the New York Stock Exchange.

Assuming the error page IS a clue and not something the PM's created to look cool.
The actual path to the error page is http://www.virtuquest.com/VQCgo/go.html so you can try pages in the subfolder not the main site.
GO.EXE is an executable file, but I couldn't find any reference to that.
In the source code for the error page you'll find the following comment: <!-- THIS IS A SERVER SIDE GENERATED FILE. ALL USERS OF LINUX 4.2 NEED TO READ CODE ERROR OF GENERATED FILE TO TROUBLESHOOT. -->
But of course this is NOT a server generated file..
The error code mentioned at the bottom of the page is 23b-87, but that does not have anything to do with any linux kernel i know of, or any program called go.exe
hmm... 23b-84.html isn't there.. different numbering systems? 10111-87.html.. nothing.. and you can't subtract those.. Hex? 23B-87=1B4.html doesn't exist... ahh.. the 87 is in decimal?? that's 484.html.. nope..
Just thinking out loud.. maybe someone else can pick up somewhere.. I will be VERY dissapointed if the PM's just put random gibberish in there..
