This manghostthing is definitely bleeding, from the looks of things, so he's there... just determined to do something? And wearing what, some sort of device that... makes him mildly fuzzy... or something.

Gah! Does anyone share my frustration with this? I checked last night before going to bed to see if there was an update as to the time of the next event. I didn't see anything so I missed it.

Now I found the transcript: time to update the chronology and stuff as promised earlier. Hopefully later tonight.

And I appreciated, belatedly, someone making a new topic for the updates to this story, this thread doesn't have any announcement about the event starting or ending, I'm just confused as usual. Very Happy

Glad you guys are on top of this! Sorry that I can't be in chat when this is going on to share it with you, it is so much more fun to play as a group instead of reading the logs on your own.

Maybe next time.

 		I didn't realize either until it was halfway done - I randomly checked the lab site and saw it going on, so there was no advance warning. Best to check in at the same time every day, I guess, though it looks like the girls might be going home....

 		I was really annoyed earlier, I was watching this and then just as the person was going to the server room again my connection cut and I lost it Sad It was actually really freaky, LOL.

 		I checked the labs site when I first got into work this morning, but then got busy so forgot to check it later. I was idling in #syzygy, though, and I'm now kicking myself for not joining #pxclab first thing this morning, too, because I would have noticed that something was happening much sooner than I did (didn't realise it until Crane came in to tell us).

Kind of frustrating that so many of us missed the beginning, or missed this one entirely. New topics definitely help, but I'm now wondering if there's any other way to let everyone know of happenings. I did post to my LiveJournal and left an LJ comment for Scott. Found myself wishing I knew more people's email addresses or IM names so I could've pinged them and let them know (especially you, rose).

From the memos and journals left behind by Mountling and Granier, it definitely appears that they were creating something. Something cubic. Later on, there's this part of Mountling's journal:

Ok, apparently I had enough time to compile most of my sources...

Anyway. It sounds to me like they already liked cube shaped things, and so they built this great device in the form of a cube. Given it's power, I can see having at least a healthy respect for it, even reverence.
I suspect that it is the same artifact that was dicovered in Catbite gorge in 7AC, but lacking the information on it's history and the technology to interact with it, it has become solely a religious artifact.

To take this spec even furthur, I'd say it's likely that the knowledge needed to interact with the cube, or at least how it can be used, was not lost at the end of the war, and that there are those at the Academy who know what it is capable of. They've likely been working on reproducing the kind of equipment used at the Hobbs Island facility so they can use the cube. Of course they'd have to be wary of the religious groups that only want to revere the Cube.


Ok, enough spec for now; I'll collect my thoughts and return later; too bad the general public doesn't know about this, it'd make a great subject for a letter to the paper.
