Phone call update...

Thanks, Red. This info sure comes in handy--when I saw this I emailed it to my hubby, who is in the process of writing a "sweet" little note to the lawyer.

Called Garth once, wasn't there, so I left a message for him to call me back. Will try again later...

rage winners

I was just looking at the rage winners list and amazingly enough they have winners posted through March 18th. Seeing how today is March 13th it seems they can see into the future now....

2nd update on phone calls

Ok, so Garth called me back, finally. Fortunately with 2+ phones in our house, hubby was more than happy to listen in. When Garth was confronted with a male voice, he handed the call over to Susie. After some discussion about arbirtration, payouts, and CA law, she took our number to pass on to legal counsel, who will supposedly call us back. Will update as needed.... Smile

BTW, Red, your letter has caused a big stir down there in DR offices.

Winner requesting payment letter

Sent: Tuesday, March 13, 2007 2:40 PM
Subject: Winner requesting payment

Dear Mr. Stern,

My name is Stanley Dial and I am the husband of Margaret Coolidge. She is the winner of two daily $1000.00 prizes. We have received NOTHING from your company in the way of payment. We live on a fixed income because I have a very serious heart condition along with many other major illnesses. We need to be paid now because we scheduled surgery for my heart condition as soon as we found out about winning the prizes. Well here we are a few weeks away from the operation and we can't afford to travel to the clinic several hundred miles away. The costs of renting dependable transportation, food, lodging and such for Peggi and Chazz (our autistic 7 year old child) while I am recuperating from the operation is a lot more than I now have.

We followed your rules and took from our meager funds the monies to notarize and mail the forms that you required. this may not seem a lot of money for you but it is for us trying to get by day by day on Social Security. So far I think we have been more than cooperative in waiting more than the 60 days that was in effect on the date that we won.

You may not care about some poor family all the way across the state from where you work and live but there are those in the media and the press who would, not to mention the repercussions that the negative press would have on MTV your new "PARTNER" as you put it in your e-mail . I have already been in contact with a staff member at the Assistant State Attorney Generals office in regards to fraudulent business practices. So far the discussion has been in general terms but they seem to believe that there may be something to investigate here. Possibly a violation of CALIFORNIA CODES
BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONS CODE SECTION 17539.1. subsection 7 among many others that we have discussed so far.

I am told that you are the legal Council for Riddle Productions. You must know that it will cost your company $950.00 to answer *each* arbitration request that we file and we would have to file two. While we fall under the qualifications for free filing since we are low income. We would be requesting triple damages for each. Wouldn't it be far easier just to pay us off. You are the legal officer for Riddle Productions and the accountant will surly follow your recommendations if you just put it to your CEO in those terms.

I know you probably have many winners clamoring for attention and payment but this is a question of my health and possibly even my life.

Thank you for your time.
Stanley Dial & Margaret Coolidge

response ffrom Mr. Stern, lawyer of DR

Dear Mr. Dial:

Thank you for your email.

You are incorrect in assuming that Riddle Productions or me, for that matter, would be indifferent to the concerns of any of our players, much less someone suffering from the health problems you have identified.

Let me please say that I was unaware of the payment issues affecting your wife. I am happy to urge our accounting department to pay the prizes as soon as possible, but not for the reasons you cite. Indeed, I disagree completely with your characterization of our actions, intentions and purported violations of the Cal. Bus. & Professions Code. Moreover, I don't appreciate the accusatory tone of your email and the implied threats therein. Let's please remove that from our communications as I don't want to aggravate your medical condition.

I suspect that you received my contact information from another prize winner, Ms. Hathaway. If so, she may have forwarded to you my response to her. And if so, you will know my position, which is that there is no intent on our part to deprive you or any other prize winner of their prize. We would be delighted to, and intend to, pay all of the prizes on a timely basis. We love our players and want to create good will, not soured expectations.

Unfortunately, we are a start-up company and sometimes finances don't match up with the needs of the company. Although it is of no consolation to you, please understand that your obligation is not the only one not being met at this particular juncture in our Company's short history. Indeed, my salary has been deferred for the past month, and I do not enjoy that one particular bit.

I would like to say that I can instruct our accounting department to write you a check immediately, but I am not certain it will be done. I will, however, make immediate inquiries in that regard not because of your threats but because it is the right thing to do.

I would further like to assure you that Riddle Productions is made up of well-intended individuals working their hardest to create interactive games that bring joy to our players. We are not out there to lie, cheat or steal. We charge no fees. We don't trade on personal information. But sometimes bad things happen to good people. In our case, we are low on funds. Many employees of Riddle share your pain in that regard. For that I apologize.

The Company will make good on our apparent obligation to you. I ask for your patience, but please be assured that I am championing your cause.

I am constrained to add that nothing contained herein shall be deemed a complete statement of our rights, obligations or defenses, all of which are expressly

reserved.

Sincerely,

David Stern

Just out of curiosity, why are you posting this stuff here? Perhaps a free blog account somewhere would be a better venue?

I"m sorry , Spacebass, I didn' t realize I was breaking a rule of your board. Please, accept my sincere apology. What I thought I was doing was giving important info about Daily Rage and their inability of not paying their prize checks.

Again, I'm sorry.

SpaceBass
Were you contacted by RP ?

is this a disturbing reality check that a gaming company has failed to comply with their own rules?

RE: Screen size

I get my screen larger by opening the "Page" tool them zoom in up to 150% then hit the f11

then I keep my mouse right at the corner of that candy ing peaton directly under the "M" and click like h@ll, I have been getting 200-270

I have also asked around some of my "smarter" friends, accountants, etc and this is basically what I get for an answer after they tried DR:

Quote:
Great talking to you as well.
I took a few moments to try Daily Rage.
As far as I can tell there is no real sequence of the numbers.
It's just a random arrangement and you get three tries to guess the correct order.
I guess the biggest hint I can give is to write down your first guess and insure that you don't duplicate any wrong positions on the next guess.

So now I want my daymn tshirt from DR! pfffffffffttttttt

Mr Stern you hording them as well?

I need coffee............... be back later

Wench & all, Spacebass began & basically owns this forum for the benefit of the community that uses it, we all do what we can to support it. Let's all be very respectful to Space, he is a really good guy!

The emails with personal info wree not exactly appropriate for this forum, although I do understand why they were posted.

As far as i know, Mr. Stern doesn't even know of unfiction & the longer that lasts, the better Smile

I have heard through the grapevine, Mr. Stern didn't even contact me directly, that he would like me to remove his email address from public view, so I am going to go edit that post & delete it. If anyone needs it they can contact me via pm or privately via alternate methods Smile

understandable Red

Space, My apologies.

Also on another note,
With regard to the score, I went and bought a new mouse a bit higher tech than my 14.00 basic one. Seems to help more with the clicking!
now if I can just keep my coffee out of it.......... Rolling Eyes

Maybe if Spacebass forgives my dumb selfless remark they will tell me how to work cgi so I can set up the forum on a site for Veterans.......... hint hint

5. prozac x 9150
Right out of nowhere,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, hmmmmmmm

I am running a spreadsheet keeping track of the leaders board.

at around 4pm when I started today prozac wasnt even in the top 50.

wonder whats up with this?

1. immerjensi x 50028

2. gtl606 x 43360
have been deleted from the leaders board since early this am.
and I mean deleted, they didnt fall they are gone.

So is prozac one of these people?

watching the leaders board and data basing the winning numbers is better than playing the stupid rage game.
makes ya think .........

 Daily Rage
I can play and win, (duh), but don't get listed as a entry for grand prize

I am glad to see other people are as disappointed as I am. No brainwaves working here, although it does tend to be addictive. I want brains back!! AND I WANT THE GAME TO WORK CORRECTLY, I log-in, I'm registered, it tells me I have 1,2 or 8 entries, and than I don't exist. It's a great idea, but somebody needs to fix the bugs, and than raise the bar on the brainwaves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers to all my mates from SA forums. Thanks to Chmom for pointing me here. I don't have a lot of time on my hands, but I did want to pop in and give a wave.

Today for the first time in months I went back to Daily Rage. I won't be going back. I'll wait for the adventures to start.

Good luck to those of you waiting for coin, dealing with a privately held startup is always tough. Cashflow problems seem to be the order of the day in most cases.

Wench: No apology necessary; I was just curious why this discussion just sort of popped up here without a lot of context.

I have not been contacted by RP, but I did receive a tip about the game and an invitation to share it with the uF audience the other day. It seemed a bit silly to post about this new game in the middle of this thread, however. Wink
