AHA!!

I got one answer....

Quote:

From: yshklanti (sent yesterday, read this morning)

Ra nednai ny takma, peynin hasya keilyn ny moquin. Teyailn vyl esun mrkzai di peynin di Gai, teyailn vyl Lanti, teyailn vyl La, en masi ust awlyn.

I applaud your efforts Jeremy for the knowledge you will gain shall prove quite valuable

that is the message contained in the .mp3.....heh..I was close phonetically, but not written..lol....well, we've got to figure out that language, but I have been told in a past email that we will have that ability on the 13th..

also, this language was taught to the person in both .mp3's by YshkLanti...that's what they told me in one of the first emails I got....I asked them to teach me, and that's when I got the reply about knowing how to on the 13th....

I think I'm gonna win some encyclopedias or something...that would be some good knowledge Smile

Good luck...I'll keep digging....

EDIT::: Also, nobody (including yshklanti) has answered as to why "abashment" is the only word left in black in the u.html....I brought that up too, but I guess nobody cared Sad

I cared. I just couldn't figure out what it meant Wink

Actually, I've been trying different thesaurus-related things, like looking for "confusion"s antonyms (clarity.html, lucidity.html), thinking that since the confusion seems to be ours, we should look for its opposite. I didn't find anything though. The only thing I haven't checked along that line of thinking is to try 'clarity' and 'lucidity' as steg keys on the various images, but my hopes aren't high for that to work.

It seems to me most likely that YshkLanti is confirming your looking into the language, so maybe that's something we can still work on before Friday?

Hmmmm, lots of familiar words: gai, lanti, la, ny, hasya. No yshk, though.

I had been thinking that perhaps the "na nnra koldaaj" was a different language or code than the rest, since it's syllables seemed different, but this seems to bring them together.

I don't remember how you phoneticized it, but wasn't "teyailn" pronounced "tay-all-inn"? In other words, it adds a syllable between the l and n. Might give us a hint how to pronounce other words like Yshk or Tyld.

Actually, it sounded more like "Tian" in the audio....2 syllables.."Tee-an"

The only thing I see that seems like it might be a "path" is:

Maybe since my email questioning the meaning of rue spawned the other synonyms in the code, we are supposed to find out who's email triggered this website update....

Has anyone written to the yshklanti address and said anything about being embarrased or this seeming like chaos?

Finally someone familiar with anguish attempts to communicate. Anguish can drive one to doing unthinkable acts. 286 is the day it begins, not the
anguish but the resolution to the suffering I have had to face for so long
now. I must question your name, as anguish brings a low saddening
existence.

Soon your curiosity will bring much knowledge.

Alright, I'm tired of being pleasant. You're communicating with others but
not with me. I want in. You'll find I am very good at searching for
things. I am a very curious person.

I am familiar with anguish, I can handle quite a lot.

Has anyone emailed asking about confusion or abashment?

Someone ought to try confusion as well....since that was the base word from which the entire list of synonyms was copied.

And remember the first thing that led us to "anguish" was that Yshk threw out "rue", and then seemed to offer the "anguish" synonyms as explanations of "rue". "Rue" doesn't have a main entry in thesaurus.com, so maybe "rue" is the word we're after instead of anguish. Same deal with abashment -- no entry of its own, but it's provided along with other words in the (2nd) entry for "confusion."

At any rate, it seems we have "rue", "anguish", "confusion", and "abashment" as possible words for translation.

Edit: Of course, "rue" in French means "street", which could be part of a location.

Well, from the newly transcribed section, "nednai" may be the name for a band of Southern Apache, part of the Chiricahua.

What do you guys think of the listed Jeremy Jones' sites?

Check out the drummer's site, [url]jeremyjonesmusic.com[/url]

Do you guys see the symbol in the top left hand corner of the page?

I wonder if it means anything....

if "ra nnra koldaaj" is an anagram or other letter-to-letter cypher, how does that gel with the "to preserve humanity.... ...... ..... the ...." clue? Since the letters don't match up number-wise, I mean.

Or, to look at the clue if you haven't yet...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

On the main page of 746865656e64.com, you can look at it's source code. Inside, you'll find a reference to yysayia.html. So, visit
http://www.746865656e64.com/yysayia.html and you'll see our lovely eye image. Under it, there is a message. And if you look at the source code of this page you see...

ra nnra koldaaj, jal hasya adjnak ny nukvad

under it, there is this line

to preserve humanity, ... ..... ...... the ......

If we line up the dots, and the letters, it all fits (except the "ny")

Code:

jal hasya adjnak ny nukvad
... ..... ...... the ......

(can't hide that one, sorry!)

Now, besides the obvious "ny" not fitting, since the other letters fit, could we decode those in the same manor that was presented by Atom_Force?

hey guys new the the arg thing but having a great time so far just wanted to throw out and idea. what if the code is a cryptoquip like in the paper. in some languages a singe symbol or character can represent a reocuring sound so what if ny=the is our clue. that would give us n=th and y = e. let me know what you think i have to go to work will check back when i get there

It doesn't, but the way it makes real words (owe, ousted) make me think the results are more than coincidence. That is, while Atom_Force's code isn't quite an answer, it's progress.

That said, it probably is still possible that we're looking at a language, one in which ra = to, nnra = preserve, koldaaj = humanity, and ny = the. I'm not sure the probabilities of such things, but I'd say that for relatively short words, exchanging the consonants consistently (notice that A_F's system keeps a = a) might also produce pronounceable alternative words most of the time. In other words, A_F's translation might still be a coincidence given the nature of the words we're working on. I'm just not sure how likely/unlikely that is.

Oh I see, thank you. Sorry, am new to args. And didn't realise this wasn't supposed to be a final answer.
