Isis won't reach halfway stage

Hi All

I just got my isis 2 days ago, and I have decrypted all the clues already as well. I have also applied clue 11 on my isis several times, so I am sure that

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the third ball has been released, but in the process of releasing the third ball, the bottom ring of my isis has also come off. I realize the rings are not important for the puzzle to be solved because of clue 4. Anyway, I am now in the process of applying clue 6 which involves turning my isis counterclockwise while continuously pressing the plunger which is facing upwards. I have been doing this for awhile now, but I seem to make no progress. I can hear the third ball moving around, but I still can't seem to reach the halfway stage because the plunger still pushes down the same amount it did when I started off. I was just wondering if I was going about this the wrong way? Any ideas? Thanks in advance. I appreciate it!

mdat, the clues are pretty obscure about opening the puzzle. What you really need to do to get to halfway stage is swirl the Isis like a glass of wine in a counter-clockwise motion. you don't need to do it for too long and it should work.

Hi MeCon, Thank you for your reply. I keep swirling it, but I am still not reaching the halfway point. Do I repeatedly press the plunger while doing so? Should I be holding the isis upside down or should it be plunger facing up? Thanks

Halfway

while you swirl it, you should hold it plunger-up and you only need to push the plunger in to check if you got to halfway. i recommend swirling it for 3-4 seconds and then check. this method doesnt take too long to work, so if you swirl it for a long time and it doesnt work, the 3rd bb might not be released.

Make sure you do have the third bb in play. Mine took several tries with a mallet before mine came loose

Thank you for your tips MeCon and volence. I will continue to try this. I am pretty sure I have the third ball in play because I feel like I can hear it. Also, I have hit mine so many times on many hard surfaces. Anyway, i will continue to try. I really appreciate all your help!!! =)

same with mine, although i only opened it twice. Now i'm stuck with an isis that is totally locked with a gap in it.

I'm still looking forward to the isis2 coming out, i hope it is better designed

Check out the entry I made on FAQ and another on "Repairing the ISIS when error on RESET" in the Timewasters forum. You can still open it without the third BB.

Good Luck.

Well done for opening it, now you just have to figure out your clue. Good luck with that. Unfortunately my isis pyramid is no longer around and I hadn't figured out the password Crying or Very sad

Assuming you mean the Birmingham pyramid, it is still around, but it has moved. Smile Have another look at the clue, it has changed! I'm still trying to figure out the password. Sad

Yes, the password is impossible!

I don't think you are likely to find it by accident this time, but it's not that hard to find. Very Happy
