Haha, neat. I don't know why but as soon as I signed up here, I wanted to find a picture of the sun for my avatar. I actually wanted to find a green one but that was the best one I could find that would fit.

if i can find the green one i'll pass it on to you. i know i had it on one of my old hard drives that sitting in my closet.

Anyone from looking for the SoCal 'Free Search' coin? i was thinking about planning a trip to go look for the coin. i dont have much use for another isis ball, but thought it would be a fun adventure if anyone wants to go.

YES! I live in SoCal and have not purchased an Isis puzzle yet. I would love to try and search for the free coin if you are interested. I live in Southern OC (San Clemente to be exact) and I'm totally interested. PM me if you want to try it

USA Isis?
Guest

I recently recieved a USA Isis. After quite awhile, and finding the '11th clue', I realized what to do. However, after a long time fiddling around with it, I decided to check the 'walkthrough' for a tip on the next step. Long story short, I've spent hours trying to make the plunger depress only half-way, but with no success. The BB sounds like its in a circular track, not a maze. I'm wondering if the USA ones are produced differently? If you have any idea what could be wrong, it would be much appreciated.

Possibly broken
Guest

So... I purchased a Prize Edition Isis recently, and got the plunger to depress halfway. However, I played around with it, and it rolled away. Now, no matter how hard I try, it won't go back! And, when I push the plunger down, it makes a grinding noise and can be slightly resistant(Its not the ball doing this... it always goes down). Is my puzzle broken?

No it's not broken. Sometimes the plunger just hits the walls a little bit. When the plunger depressed half way and you turned it upside down you need to make sure the bb doesn't fall off the plunger and back to the start. If so then enjoy clue 11 again! Wink

I have an Isis, from two years ago. Never solved it. Now I've decided I could get some money back for it.
How much could I sell it for if:

-Never registered it
-Still has instruction booklet
-Still has the case
-Half of the outer box
-Rarely used.

Thanks for any help.

Charlief222,

i have tried your method lots of time but have not been able to do it-the bit im stuck on is turning the isis rightside up , but with the ball bearings not making a noise. how did you acomplish this?

Rolling Eyes PLEASE HELP Rolling Eyes

charlief222's method has become known as the bucket method. It does work. I had to use it once (after I opened it the right way) but I used a slightly different approach. Instead of swinging the Isis so it lands plunger up I kept it upside down and hit it on the bottom of a table.

You have to get the timing right and apply torque to the Isis halves as it strikes the table. You will have to do this a few times because every successful strike will allow you to unscrew the Isis one half of a turn.

Thats a really pain in the butt way of going about it.

I couldn't get the plunger to stay down with the regular method. It's not really that much of a pain to do it my modified way. Once you have the technique (which you need to use the regular bucket method) it's really easy. It saved me in a pinch, anyway.

Just an alteration on the original method in case someone else can't get it to work.

I am considering of buying Isis but I would like to know if it's already way too late for it - meaning are there any coins left? In Isisadventure website it says "33 pyramid locations, 18 gold coins and 212 silver coins" but does it mean:

how much have been found so far?
or how many there are in total?
or how many there are left?

I saw somewhere mentioned that you can check from somewhere how many coins are left but I was unable to find the link (unless it's those numbers). Does anyone know the answer?

SoCal Coin Search

Hey SoCalSteve, if you haven't yet gone looking for the coin, I'd be glad to join you. BTW, which of the two are you looking for?

Help

Hello guys, im a newby round here and any help would be much appreciated.
I brough the Isis puzzle a couple of weeks ago, i manged to decode all the clues but have been stuck trying to open the damn thing.

Ive banged it and managed to get the first bb in the hole as i cant hear it anymore. Im now onto the bottom half of the puzzle, i can get the balls to stop moving and to stop making noise but as soon as i turn it upside down i can hear them again. ive tried the bucket methord but to no avail, has anyone got any tips? cheers.

Quick question guys, my brother got one of these and he loves it, however I like a gobshite dropped it from about chest height onto a hardwood floor and now I can't hear the ball bearings move and the middle ring is very stiff. Have I broken it?!
