Charlief222,

i have tried your method lots of time but have not been able to do it-the bit im stuck on is turning the isis rightside up , but with the ball bearings not making a noise. how did you acomplish this?

Rolling Eyes PLEASE HELP Rolling Eyes

charlief222's method has become known as the bucket method. It does work. I had to use it once (after I opened it the right way) but I used a slightly different approach. Instead of swinging the Isis so it lands plunger up I kept it upside down and hit it on the bottom of a table.

You have to get the timing right and apply torque to the Isis halves as it strikes the table. You will have to do this a few times because every successful strike will allow you to unscrew the Isis one half of a turn.

Thats a really pain in the butt way of going about it.

i solved this when it first came out and a few things about it.
firstly despite having it apart i never agree there is 3 bb just 2.
secondly the reason you keep hitting and twisting it is because your doing
it the hard way. when the placenta,s are slightly apart turn the isis gold side down and hit it on something that absorbs the impact a bit. like your palm but you might need gloves. when open you push the maze in to lock it down then when you reclose it you tap it and the maze pops back up.
by hitting it on a hard surface the maze bounces. by hitting it on your palm the isis stops but the maze keeps going causing it to lock down.
the second ball is not a requirement.
what i find a joke is the amount of force required to release the second ball involes smashing it hard and i think thats a bit wrong because nobody buying such a expensive toy would logiclly think to do that.

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS TO OPEN THE ISIS
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS TO OPEN THE ISIS

Very Happy Step by step instructions:
Read these steps before you try it; if you don't it will be pretty hard for you to do.
(It's a spoiler so if you want to read scroll your mouse over it)

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Opening the Isis seems extremely hard but someone cold do it in five minutes...

1. First smash the puzzle on a hard, flat surface, plunger (button) up. (I recommend you put a rag or something over where you hit the puzzle to prevent scratches to it and the surface)

You should be able to hear a ball rolling around inside. If not, redo step one.

2. You are going to have to turn the Isis in different directions to navigate through the maze. (Do not turn it upside-down. This may take a while) if the plunger goes only half way down you know that you are through with this step. IF YOU HAVE THE PLUNGER HALF WAY DOWN HOLD IT!

3. Keep holding the plunger and flip the puzzle over. Let go of the plunger, and then push it again. This time it should go all the way in. KEEP HOLDING THE PLUNGER DOWN.

4. Now unscrew the puzzle, still holding the plunger. After the puzzle begins unscrewing you can release the plunger.

ISIS Pyramid challenge

There are a few North American shops that sell the isis, but mostly all online. the Isis puzzles are different on the outside as well as on the inside. ... For each puzzle you buy from sonicwarp, after opening you will be given access to an online section, if you pay their monthly fee, and be allowed to try and decyipher their clues wich may lead you to a pyramid containing coins. you are allowed 1 coin per opened isis. these coins are gold or silver in color and will grant you a small prize from sonicwarp.

Dredging up an old post to append some info about a local shop where someone solved the Isis and associated pyramid puzzle (or something, whatever.) I'm not familiar with the series, I'm just reporting the news as I came across it.

The Book
The Book

I just finished reading Andrew's book, "The Isis Adventure - Codes of the Diamond Isis." Do we discuss it on this thread or start a new one for the book?
