At a loss

Ah the elusive Mr number1barber hmmmm i do remember now i sent you a polite email asking for help after i got mine 'locked' half way and you didnt even bother to reply? thnx all the same eh

Mine did get locked half way and after getting it back and opening it again i can see why it happened,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
if the lock is in the open position which it probably was when i closed if you will not get it open again)
not only that i think the maze went back wrong.

I have genuinly helped people with very small clues Number1 when i have been pm'd by them, notice how selfish people become once they open their's? no more posts by them or tips hmmm even when you can prove you can open it.

Btw if it takes you a minute m8 ur too slow Smile

Deja Vous

Hmm, Sonicwarp have sent me a 'repaired' Isis back even though I didn't ask for a replacement, I wanted a refund.

Anyway I can't bloody well open the damn thing again can I. Last time I tried I hammered it against a book on my bed four times and discovered it was broken inside, now whether it was already broken or I broke it is open to debate. So now the problem I've got is, A: How do I know it has been repaired if I can't open it, B: Will I brake it again trying to open it?

Look, I've had this open once. Didn't write down the number inside unfortuanately as according to Sonicwarp they are NO LONGER PUTTING KEYS INSIDE THEIR ISIS'S (thought you new buyers out there ought to know this). The number can be used online to order a key, but at what cost?

I've got lots of photo's of the insides when I had mine apart so I know how it works but I can't get it open again and I think it's because the
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
magnet holding the third ball
is way to strong.

Can someone please PM me the exact way to open the Isis properly, Like I said I've already had it open so asking for the solution isn't bad form.

ISIS PUZZLE
Third ball

HI Guys, I have read all the strings and dont seem to be getting anywhere. when trying to release the ball is there a sequene that has to be made alligning with the two gold placentas. Also should the plunger be facing upwards as i have read two variations. dont wanna break it as it is a fantastic object.
Thanks Mike Idea Shocked

give clues/answers

why cant people just put answers/clues on here for people asking for it instead of saying its on here somewhere

otherwise no ones gonna buy isis2 coz sonic warp wont make enough money on the first one to fund for the second isis and whos gonna pay £100 for isis 2 when they cant open isis 1?

I DID IT!

Opened the damn thing at last.

Disappointed by the whole affair really. Having mine faulty to begin with meant I opened it without solving it properly and having taken photo's of the inside, once I got the repaired Isis back I knew how it worked so where's the challenge?

Plus the whole method of hitting it hard to start with is hardly an elegant way of opening the puzzle is it? I mean, the force with which you have to hit the thing is pretty bloody ridiculous.

My advice to those who still can't open it:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
hit it hard against carpeted concrete, plunger facing upwards. If you hear a metallic 'click' when you turn it upside down you know that you released the third ball (the ball sticks back onto it's magnetic disc). Of course what you do next when you've discovered how hard you need to whack it to release the third ball I won't say, but even with mine open I still can't figure out the exact method of getting the third ball where it should be as it seems to be completely random, 8 moves was the lowest number I needed to do it, 48 was probably the max, and the anti-clockwise thing is utter rubbish. I'd like to see inside the maze to know exactly what's going on in there.

More advice for those who have opened the Isis but don't want to have to whack so hard next time:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
use a hole puncher on a blister pack from some pills to make 2 small plastic discs. Using a needle, drop some superglue onto the needle point (more accurate then just squeezing the super glue directly into the hole) and drip it into the brass hole where the magnetic disc is. Drop the first plastic disc in and hold it down using a thin stick until set. Repeat for the second plastic disc. Leave the superglue to set for a few hours and hey presto! you no longer have to whack the Isis so hard.

I found out recently that Sonicwarp are no longer putting the keys inside their Isis's. I guess this is because lots of people have had to send their Isis in for repair because the keys jams the locking mechanism. Instead there is a serial number etched in the brass. Sonicwarp will cut a key for you if you email them the serial number (as proof of opening the Isis) but DON'T put the key inside or you'll have to pay them £25 to unlock the Isis. The key is free and apparently it is needed for Isis V.

I've now looked at the pyramid map and there none near my county so I'm not going to bother, unless one crops up nearby, but then if I only get a silver coin I'd have probably spent £20 on petrol getting there so what's the point?

Sigh, I see now why the dragons on Dragons Den decided not to invest. I can't understand why Sonicwarp would advertise the fact that the Isis featured on the show if the inventors didn't get their investment. It was embarrassing, the two guys were clearly shitting bricks. The poor saps had to reverse engineer their own product because the engineers kept the blueprints, for what reason? I imagine Sonicwarp had debt troubles.

If anyone hasn't seen Dragons Den you can see the clip

poj, have you deciphered all of the clues?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Clue 5
tells you what to do next, but it doesn't quite work.

All you need to know is
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
once you know the third ball has been released you are moments away from unlocking the Isis. As long as you don't tip the Isis upside down again you should eventually work out what to do next.

If you want to know more I can PM you more info. Probably not a good idea to post it here.

What a con?

'Every single one has a different solution' was the phrase used by Andrew on the Dragons Den show.

Is that really correct? from what we have read on this forum there seems to be 3 ways to open the puzzle.

Trades description comes to mind now.

Im sorry but to pay out £100.00 for a puzzle that you are led to believe is virtually impossible to solve then you realise mainly because of this forum it is actually incorrect and a lie.

The symbols on the side have nothing to do with opening the isis what so ever, only the placentas on the brass section.

The symbols are there to make you think your ball needs a special combination of these symbols to open it,THIS IS NOT CORRECT.

I feel totally ripped off to be honest, mainly because i have watched the Dragons Den clip and was horrified at the way the Sonicwarp directors could (would) not answer questions about there on product/sales.

They haven't even got there own design drawings to replicate the puzzle,as someone else has already pointed out on here, they have emplyed another firm to reverse engineer the puzzle just to make more ??????? i smell a rat.

Sonicwarp not payed thier bills?

I for one am going to ask for a full refund of my £100.00 and the repair price of £25.00 + shipping £7.50 (which Andrew also told me was £15.00) as soon as possible.

And please dont say 'well you didnt have to buy it', no i didnt but i bought it on the understanding that 'Every single one has a different solution' and it would take a lot longer to complete.

This post should not be deleted as it only explains the truth, i am emailing Andrew as soon as this post is complete asking for my refund,i will also send a copy of this post to him to read in person.

And btw on Dragons Den Andrew states there is nothing Sonicwarp can do if the solution is posted here so if an unsasifactory explanation is not emailed back to me by a Director of Sonicwarp or i do not get my refund that is exactly what i am going to do.

barumjeffries, sounds like you may have knocked the Isis and this has caused the maze lock mechanism to spring back.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You need to get the third ball into position before using the plunger again to push the maze lock back so you can carry on opening the Isis.

I prised open the lock mechanism to have a look inside. Not what I expected but makes total sense now as to why the 'anti-clockwise' thing is rubbish. I've taken a photo of the inside and noted the exact movements required to unlock the Isis. Now I can open the Isis no problem and without all that banging and bashing it is now a very elegant and swift way to open it. The problem I've got now is resetting, it requires more effort then the opening (and sore hands). Isis I is badly designed and a total disappointment. I hope Sonicwarp do better with II, III IV and V.
