over and out

I'm bored of the Isis now. I won't be posting here anymore....well, as long as it's not about the Isis anyway.

I will still respond to the PM's if anyone feels the need to but for not for much longer I fear as I'm getting bored of that too. There a plenty of helpfull people on this forum who I'm sure can help you out.

Damn Isis stuck...

Well, got my Isis today, deciphered all 10 clues, and did the whole thing completely legitimately. I got to the very end. Got the ball through the maze (apparently) and started spinning the halves. I spun them a full 360 degrees then it just stopped. Not only is this a puzzle but a beautiful desk decoration, and now i not only have a stuck puzzle, but an art piece with a unsightly 5mm gap in the middle of it....any help with this is appreciated. How exactly can i reset the third bearing so that I can start the maze over again...I plan to get this puzzle done within my first 48 hours, and I am afraid i am hopelessly stuck...lol...

EDIT: Well, i've been able a couple times to get it spinning again, but it goes about another 360 degrees and stops......it'l like the halves wont seperate. Is there something else i have to do, like physically pull them apart, or will the threads on each half force them apart on their own?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You're very nearly done - keep pressure on the plunger and that should allow you to continue to unscrew the halves. The lock reengages on each 180 degree rotation, but you need to keep it pressed open with the plunger for nearly the whole time you are unscrewing it. If somehow you've got the plunger goinng all the way down again, and not half way, turn isis plunger up, and keep jiggling and tilting until plunger only goes half way, then keeping plunger pressed, invert isis, swirl it around clockwise to get balls through maze until its quiet, then whilst continuing to press plunger, keep unscrewing it all the way - takes quite a few rotations as the threads are fine.

 Help!

I've been waiting for months to get my hands on one of these. Clearly not cleaver enough to find one of the free one's Embarassed I eventually took the plunge and bought one second hand off ebay. Laughing

When it arrived the two placenta's were lined up and have been told that this is the first stage. I can get the bearings to go quiet when I turn it upside down and can turn the placenta's 1cm appart when the plunger is fully depressed past the click but then it just freezes.

My man and I have tried brute force and any more banging may cause more damage than good. Work will be getting annoyed with me soon and my boss is interested in using it as a golf ball. Wink

If anyone has any pity, please PM me a step by step through this. Its really beginning to frustrate me and my finger tips are going numb from holding the plunger! Shocked

EDIT: THANK-YOU! You know who you are so I won't say more. If I can't even get this done then there really is no hope! Oh well, I'm really glad to own one and can't wait to experience the Isis 2 with everyone else instead of months after. Good Luck to everyone!

STILL STUCK DAMMIT!!

I am afraid that this thing may be broken.....

I've been fiddleing with it in this half open state for over 8 hours and i cant seem to get any more movement.....I'll get it to turn every once in awhile, bu it doesn't look like the gap is getting any larger or that the threads are forcing it apart....could it have gotten cross threaded? I cant get the third ball to move....And i cant seem to get it to come out of the maze....Am i doing somehting horribly wrong....

Am i crazy or is this broken...........

Isis open...now what...
Not from UK

So, we Americans, upon opening our Isis, do not get a key if we bought the Isis from Sharper Image. There is a keynumber inside the Isis and we are supposed to put the isis serial number ad the key number on the website www.isisadventure.com/tsi . Well, the problem is, that my key number doesn't work. I bought this brand new, it has never been opened (certainly not by the people at sharper image, i used to work there with them and they cant make heads or tails of it, they are still trying to turn the rings to unlock it) and I am very frustrated that i cant redeem any sort of price that is supposed to be availible. Sure, i now know how to unlock it with ease, but I cant get the full benefit of it. I was prepared for the fact that i cant be part of the fill isis adventure, but i cant even be part of this half ass marketing device. This is rediculous. Anyone have this problem, and if so, how did you rectify the situation.

This is a wonderfully frustrating puzzle.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There HAS to be a now violent way to open the Isis. Have any of you managed to reverse the polarity on the plunger side magnet?

"Millions of possible combinations, and one one opens it"

Misleading? Quite.[/spoiler]

Halfway stage

So, can anyone tell me how far I should be able to press in the plunger, for it to be ''only slightly''?
When I push it, it does stop before it reaches what feels like the bottom. But, if I use a little more force I can depress it fully and hear a small click.

All answers are appreciated! Thank you.

Thank you and message to InuShonen

I got my US / Sharper Image Isis in the mail yesterday. With the help of the clues here I was able to easily decypher the ciphers and figure out how to get it open. Probably about 6 hours start to finish.

For other US purchasers, you can get a few extra clues by deciphring the UK clues, which are a bit different from the US clues - however - reading this entire thread is the best way to help yourself.

Thanks everyone for your input and for confirming that I AM one of the 5%

Scottie

InuShonen, if you log back in, please email me at ScottiesInBocaSPLATComcast.net I would like to ask you a question about the pword on the Sharper Image site. BTW, sorry you only got a coffee maker when the other "winner" got the Zero Gravity ride (wirth about $7500!)
