Ole,

You actually can get the first 10 clues on the Sharper Image website (go to the ISIS and then open the product manual... 3rd page i think). This is what I did, told myself that if I couldn't get past decyphering those clues that I wouldn't go forward with buying the actual puzzle. my fiancee and I managed to knock them out in about 3 hours but I know of people that did them in under an hour.

Also, the method in which someone mentioned not needing the 3rd ball bearing has been engineered out of newer the ISIS puzzles.

Then, once you get the puzzle.. be sure that you get the clues on the box decyphered as well. These provide a HUGE hint as to how you will have to go about opening your ISIS which seems most people completely overlook.

Best of luck in your adventure.

Stumped
Help?

I'm completely stumped with my ISIS. I've decoded all of the clues (US Version) and still nothing.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

I've given it a 'big bang' many times, and when I turn the unit upside down I can hear something click from time to time. I then turn the unit right-side up. Following the clues, I keep pressing the plunger down but see no noticable change. I've roated the unit, spinned all the dials, shaken it, and tried all of the above while upside down.

I'm convinced that I have the 3rd ball bearing released, but I can't get the plunger ti change or get the green (or gold for UK I suppose) dials to move at all in any direction.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I've read all of the clues enough times to know them by heart and they arent helping. Sad

Edit: If someone can PM me a step by step it would be appreciated Smile

Just wondering

I believe I have the third ball bearing left to go. Are the rings actually necessary (before I press the button another couple thousand times)?

ok a question of those who decipher the pictures on the ISIS box. Where did you find the glyphs? Can someone direct me to a link on how to read the glyphs.

Thanks.

Thingo,

I believe you have to send for one if your ball is one of the newer versions.
Here, from www.isisadventure.com/tsi

You can request a FREE metal key by contacting us at keySPLATsonicwarp.com.

Duplicate keys will be charged at $10.00 +P&P

Please note there is a $10.00 P&P charge to cover handling and postage of keys, paid to us at paypalSPLATsonicwarp.com

You should include both Isis Numbers within your email, together with your full name and address.

On a side note, has anyone reassembled their ball and got it into working condition? Right now, mine is sitting on my desk in two separate hunks of metal. As attractive as they look right now I'd really like to put them together correctly so I can "take my frustrations out on it" again.

 American version
Questions

Need some advice/thoughts on American version of the Isis, the one sold by Sharper Image. Have read the whole thread, decrypted all 10 clues (some are clearly a little different than those given in the UK version, e.g. no mention of counter-clockwise); also haven't seen anything about the 11the clue (dominant theory of universe origin).

Have dropped my Isis from as high as 4 feet onto a medium depth carpet, button/plunger up and do not seem to have release of third ball bearing; not sure about this but, when turn Isis over, button/plunger still goes in the same depth - about 1/5 inch (.5 cm).

Questions:

1. Does the Isis sold by Sharper Image in US have a different locking/unlocking mechanism than UK original version? (mine is grey with silver-colored moveable rings)

2. How necessary is it for the button/plunger movement depth to change/reduce at the half-way stage in solving the Isis, when the third ball bearing is released?

3. What should I hear that is different when the third ball is released? I can hear what seems like more than one ball, but it could be just two, and I cannot distinguish a different size of ball?

4. How necessary is it for the two halves of the ball to move a small distance (1 c.m. +/-) in the sequence of unlocking?

Basically, I am stuck wondering whether I have released the third ball, whether I should keep dropping it from greater heights, and worrying that at some point I will dent or break the Isis. While I would like to solve the Isis, I also like the looks and feel of the thing and would hate to just ruin it in the process of pursuing a solution. If I end up ruining it, I would rather just have left it as a curious bit of desk scupture.

Any advice?

Hi,

I just purchased my ISIS puzzle today. Did someone send you the 10 clues? Can you send them to me?

STEP BY STEP ON HOW TO SOLVE THE ISIS..
nice and easy..

Step 1. Bang the ISIS HARD, plunger facing upward, to release the third ball bearing..

Step 2. when you have release the third ball bearing, it will be on the outside of the maze and you must navigate it to the center of the maze.. to do this, Keep the plunger facing upwards, rotate and swirl the around to navigate the ball through the maze.. you will know that your ball is at the center of the maze when you press the plunger and it only depresses slightly..

Step 3. when the ball is at the center of the maze, hold down the plunger.. the plunger will press onto the ball and hold it in the center.. KEEP HOLDING DOWN THE PLUNGER and turn the ISIS upside down.. swirl or rotate the isis until the 2 ball bearings are silent..

Step 4. HOLD THIS POSITION.. once you've got the isis to go silent while upside down.. you will now be able to push the plunger deeper..

once you have pushed the plunger all the way in again, you have unlocked the Isis..

hold down the plunger and turn the halves CLOCKWISE.. continue to unscrew it untill it comes apart..
