I know people have been asking if they broke their ball or not, but I need to ask my question. I dropped my Isis about five times to see if I release the 3bb. When I dropped it the fourth time, I tried pressing the plunger and it seemed like it was stuck. The plunger went about halfway and it made a clicking sound. After a while it went back to normal. Did I really break it or did the 3bb make it to the end of the maze?

YA um thast sucks. you solved rthe puzzle. all you had to do was turn it upside down, swirl it till the bbs stopped making noise and push the plunger the rest of the way down. after that just unscrew. if you cant get back to that step, just read down the page a little to see Charlief222. he tells how to go through a backdoor, if you will, and it takes like 10 seconds. its great.

 Isis
instruction book clues

Hello,

I was bought an Isis for xmas by my very kind brother in law. I have to say I am flumoxed by it. But having read your thread a little there seems to be much mention of an instruction booklet and 10 clues, should these be in the box or are they on a web site. My ball came in a wooden box with a cardboard box around it with hyroglyphs on the outside of the box but no further instructions, I do not know where to start.

Any help to get going would be appreciated.

cheers

Supermycy

resetting the isis

After taking mine apart and getting it back together several times I found a way to reset the isis without
getting it locked up from misalignment.
After several times my locking mechanism has become rather loose and will not stay in the unlocked position
long enough for me to reset it the way its described in the FAQ. Heres what I did.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I took off the maze cover and made a diagram of it so I could tell how to lean the isis to get it
through the maze.
The placentas are your reference points for putting things back together too.
With everything taken apart... with the lock mech upside down, place the 2 BB's in their respective holes
on the under side of the locking mech and put it back into the bottom hemisphere as described in the FAQ,
when you put the lock mech back in make sure the outer hole(maze entrance) is lined up with the placenta
on the lower hemisphere.
Keep the lower hemisphere upside down. Now place the 3rd BB on the tip of the plunger.
( If your lock mech will still stay down then you can simply put the 3rd BB in its magnetic resting place
in the upper hemisphere.)
Now with the upper hemisphere upside down, gently bring it up under the inverted lower hemishpere with the
placentas lined up and screw it back together, if your lock mech isnt staying down you will need to depress
the plunger while screwing it back together, then navigate the maze backwards to return the 3rd BB to its
magnetic home.
The key is to make sure you line the maze entrance with the placentas and the 2 placentas from each
hemishpere before you start to screw it together. This ensures that the maze entrance and the drop hole
from the upper hemisphere are lined up corectly.

I also found and easy way to open it based on the inverted bucket theory given earlier. I had mine screwed
back togehter where the maze entrance and the drop hole were opposite. Sad

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Turn the isis upside down and rotate until the 2 BB's rest in there holes ( are silent ).
Start to put pressure in the two halfs as if to unscrew und bang the isis upward underneath a desk or a table.
This will knock the lock mech into its unlocked state without having to try to keep the BB's in place through
a wild arm orbit. Smile I just tapped it as I unscrewed it and it worked great without having to hurt my
hands. Smile

3rd bb

if youve tried as hard as you can to release the bb, you probably do have it released and you just have to get it through the maze

nope, you have to figure that out yourself. But when you do get it through you will be at the halfway stage, as indicated by clue #6

Hey just read earlier on in this forum, like 1 or 2 pages ago. charlief222 gives a pretty sweet trick to open it.

if you dont want to cheat to open it, then i'll give you a hint.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You'll know you got the 3rd bb through the maze when the plunger will only push down half as much as usual. then youre at the halfway stage

sometimes people think they have broken the Isis when they get to halfway, but do not think that, you are actually very close to solving it.

Decoding ISIS Clues
Here's a tool to help decode the ISIS clues...

I wrote a quick tool that helped me solve the ISIS clues, and so I have posted it on my website. Go to www.4puz.com/decode.html.

Hope this helps!
