For those with Google Earth this link might be interesting:
Google Earth Placemark
EDIT: I can only find one wreck dated the 13th and that wasn't a Friday. Also, no wrecks with Hank references...

The blood of the king could be the blood of those who died aboard the ship when it sank, and the fact that it holds the key could be why 'Hank" is looking for it
The blood of the king, could also refer to a blood relation (i.e. daughter of the king = princess)
Ships are sometimes named after women, Queen's/Princess'
There's Princess Cruises that sail around the area shown in the map.
Just a thought!

cat- offline [SPEC] With the references to the "Deep" and Hank loving "her" despite her "Unknown Origins" - I'm thinking along the lines of the king being Poseidon, the "her" being Poseidon's daughter, the "child" being a hybrid of the two.
The language being a possible Atlantean type of language? (...tenuous connection but Lanti? Maybe that's the word used to decribe it's people or language?)

hello all....I won't be able to do any puzzle solving until this evening, but we need to figure out the language if it hasn't been done yet....I haven't had time to go back and look through the latest posts..
Please though, if someone could send me any SOLID information, not speculation, that you all may come up with during the day, it will help me get into it tonight....
email me at therealjsquaredSPLAT yahoo.com
thanks in advance

They have already linked back to these forums once before, I guess that is just a nod in our direction to say that they have read the previous links we have made to SOUF.

I'm 99.8% sure that hauntedhank blogspot is in-game. Down at the bottom, the picture of the kid on the boat is definitely where one of the images on the curiosity page came from, and he talks about sending recordings of a language to linguists, who have all been unable to identify it.
Great find Wrayer!
I've sent hauntedhankSPLAT gmail.com an email, we'll see what he says to a recent college grad who majored in linguistics.

Something happened 17 years ago (perhaps involving the daughter - W.B. Water Baby on her 5th birthday?),
It was also a Friday on the 13th October in 1989.
If he was out in a boat, he would've been in fairly rough seas as the Atlantic Hurricane season was in full swing. On that date, Hurricane Jerry became a tropical storm.
Questions:
What is the picture in /curiosity on the cardboard tag? Table lamp, vacuum cleaner, Van DerGraff Generator???
Anyone notice the O's in the note, "... BLOOD OF THE KING..."?

Indeed - lets hope it wasn't just a 'lucky' find from a "long time listener, first time caller" and we never hear from him again... [/cynical]
