Goin' Wabbit Hunting For those confused as to the cryptic topics in #uf regarding rabbits... here's the story:
1. Monday: the day we found the rabbit hole.
Knowing that this lovely campaign is being run by one of ARGN's own, we (Imbri, Sapagoo and myself) quickly hunted down a rabbit hole on an ARGN membersite here www.guysguise.com/rabbit_hole.html
That lead to a lovely picture from a famous tale and an email address:
bbitarSPLAT guysguise.com
Sending an email got you a response that said:

which after translating and rot-ing gets you:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
A VERY DEEP WELL: Either the well was very deep or she fell very slowly, for she had plenty of time as she went down to look about her and to wonder what was going to happen next. First, she tried to look down and make out what she was coming to, but it was too dark to see anything; then she looked at the sides of the well, and noticed that they were filled with cupboards and book-shelves; here and there she saw maps and pictures hung upon pegs. She took down a jar from one of the shelves as she passed; it was labeled "orange marmalade"; but to her dissapointment it was empty. She did not like to drop the jar for fear of killing somebody, so managed to put it into one of the cupboards as she fell past it.
Which is a paragraph from the same text the picture came from (Alice in Wonderland) And we were stuck.
2. Wednesday - The day we found the angry rabbit
Going back to www.guysguise.com/rabbit_hole.html , we found this text
Quote:
Do you think that this is the end of the journey? / Find my brother and find him quick / We have a very important date in 3 days.
Sapagoo located a picture of an angry rabbit at http://www.guysguise.com/images/rabbit.gif with some seriously freaky eyes. Too much pot, I say.
Sapagoo kindly sent the angry rabbit a lovely Valentine's Day card with fuzzy bunnies on it. In June. He received no chocolate in return. Bunnies must get pot munchies, too.
3. Thursday - The day we figured out what the email meant
Yeah. Still a bit confused about this topic...
At about 1:15 we all received emails from rabbitSPLAT guysguise.com saying
Quote:
The Rabbit Hole : The Rabbit Hole has been found www.guysguise.com/rabbit_hole.html The well is too deep to see what's at the bottom.... for now. -Rabbit
and still, I am confused. And disappointed about the chocolate.

Find my brother, and find him quick.
We have a very important date in 2 days
with a popup to the aforementioned e-card.
and we've also found the next link, the one which actually uses mr. angry rabbit pic.
here's several hints
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
after you've decoded the subject from the e-mail from mr. bbitar, use that to find the next page
this new page has links to 2 pages that show a conversation between 2 more familiar characters, and a countdown.

I think malfrua is "late"...frua being early, "mal"frua being late.
It's repeated twice sort of like the "I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date!" line from AIW. (Only this is You're late! You're late!)

Thanks for the start of the trail. So cool to be able to trial it on my own - and find the next sites.

Another BIG announcement???
Just one question - how did you know to start looking for the rabbit in the first place?

That showed up in the topic of #uf on Monday... It was changed that morning to
Quote:
Monday: The day we found the rabbit hole
That made us wonder.
Also, because we're snoopy people and like to read about other people's lives and live vicariously through them, if you go to the blog on guysguise, there is an entry that talks about Alice In Wonderland and rabbit holes...
And so our snooping lead to a rabbit hole

With celina's help in chat, here's what we have for the translation:
From: Regino korej
From: Queen of Hearts
Vi estas malfrua! Vi estas malfrua!
You're late! You're late!
Tian mi postulas ke vi atendu.
Therefore I demand that you wait.
Evitu la capelisto!
Avoid the hatmaker!
What was throwing me off on the last word is that capelisto should have a circumflex over the c. I discovered that "c^apel" is a hat, and the "-listo" suffix means person who does. So, hatmaker was the logical choice. The same problem occurs on "Reg^ino". I couldn't find a translation for "korej" , but "koro-" is the root form for heart, so I guessed a little at that one.
A little birdy dropped me a hint that allowed me to translate "Tian".

Reply to The Queen So, we were thinking in chat that perhaps we should reply to The Queen's email, so I did:
"Kiel longe devi mi atendi?"
How long should I wait?
No answer yet... so, we wait...

Reply FROM The Queen! Got a reply!! Actually, two... the first one appeared to be just a reiteration of the first email - "You're late.. etc".... but then I got the same email, this time with an attachment... horoj.jpg. It's a pic of cards; in the background they're laid out in an orderly fashion, in the foreground they're scattered. Haven't made much of an analysis yet, since I wanted to get it up here so y'all could help!

I looked at the horoj.jpg image (see above post) and built a page to simplify the background tableau of cards. My html is attached.
My only observation so far is:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
there are no Jacks.
Revised page lists the cards visible on top of the pile, but the exact count of downturned cards will have to wait. (Good luck to the gang in chat -- i have to go watch "Monk" now.)
