One guaranteed demon-bane

After Mycroft's jerry-rigged IM exorcism last night, Naamah decided to log on and throw one last potshot at me, saying I "didn't even understand what I was repeating". I saw it this morning and decided to mix it up with her on the theological level:

So, what I conclude from this is that just generally talking about religion and faith gets her riled up, but invoking Senoy, Sansenoy and Semangelof (the three angels who bound Lilith) drives her around the bend and probably causes her extreme demon-pain.

An unfortunate consequence of this is that if you keep firing the invocation at her, eventually she logs off, which kills any conversation she was having with anyone else. Pony, Hyexistenz, I'm really sorry for interrupting the discussions you two were having with her, and I hope you get the chance to resume them soon. In future I won't angel-spam her unless everyone in chat agrees it's the right time to do it.

(Similarly, I think it would be polite for everyone else to refrain from angel-spamming her too, at least while others are trying to collect information.)

Oh, and just for reference, I brought up three separate and rather old prayers during that chat; the first was the exorcism of salt and water from the pre-Vatican II blessing of holy water at http://landru.i-link-2.net/shnyves/old_blessing_of_holy_water.htm. The second was excerpts from the Song of the Three Young Men ("Benedicite, omnia opera Domine") from the Old Testament, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benedicite. The third was Patrick's Breastplate, an old Irish prayer.

That was my guess, yeah. Though I'm intrigued about the notion of Banana having some particular knowledge of the powers at play here, too.

"All the information" is a lot of information. My advice is to pick out exactly what you think he needs to know; get this down to as few bullet-points as possible. Five is probably the max; three is better.

(In the entrepreneurial side of business, we have this thing called an "elevator pitch"; the idea is that if you're trapped in an elevator with a venture capitalist, you have somewhere between 15 and 60 seconds to get him interested in what you're doing and give you lots of money. In this case, we now don't have time to give the Doc a long lead-in; we have to get to a point we can prove within 3 to 5 lines of an IM.)

I'm having a barbecue tonight, so I won't be around; I'm off to get a shower and think about my elevator pitch.

EDIT: Of course, one possibility -- if you can get him to click on a link -- would be to put any information beyond the elevator pitch on a webpage, along with the amulet image, and send that to him...

You're right mara - I wasn't clear on 'everything'... I would just like to have a little time to read through what I've missed the last couple of days (RL should be calmed down after today, so I can focus on the 'important' things Wink

) I would like to sit down and know exactly the focal points that the doc needs to know about his new little 'girlfriend'. Based on the quick chat, he can be turned. Oh, and obviously Naamah is still watching him a little too close.
