well... at http://www.geocities.com/doyoulikeriddles/
We find:
Quote:
SometimEs the thiNgs that seem lIke mysteries and stranGe events, are really your own secret longing for More excitement
A
Followed by three pictures: crop circles with the text "Made by the hands of humans"; stonehenge with a man next to it; statue: Rodin's Thinker
Also, in a meta tag in the source:
Quote:
there is a jungle with no trees, and no animals to be seen, yet i am lost inside. I need help to get out.
there are 10 things blocking my path, and i need to review them all before i can find my way out
Ignoring the initial 'S'... the capitals spell 'enigma'

The "Jungle with no trees and no animals to be seen" is probably a reference to a city...aka the concrete jungle...

methinks mrenigma is finding it difficult to gain and keep our attention and has resorted to spoonfeeding.
Where we find a nice gif with these words/phrases strewn about:
Another Stone
Maze
Quandry [yes, spelled wrong]
Solved
Enigma
Puzzle
Rubiks Cube
Conundrum
Rebus
No Solution [only this phrase is backwards - mirror text]

OK, all of the words/phrases on this image seem to follow
the same theme, puzzles. Except for "Another Stone".
googling that does not come up with anything worthwhile.
Maybe it is some kind of hint though.

Another Stone was the name of a puzzle during the beast, which can be found here: http://familiasalla-es.cloudmakers.org/anotherstone.htm The puzzle was solved by printing the image and folding it into an origami crane, then reading the letters along the top of the paper. Detailed solve can be found at http://cloudmakers.org/trail/#3.43
I'd bet if you fold this image into a crane, you'd be in business.

I folded it the way I think a crane is made, but didn't see anything obvious. But when I unfolded the paper, i noticed that one of the diagonal creases intersects the letters AMAZON, and the name of the image is dotcom .gif -- another book promotion??
(twist my arm, and i'll post a photoshop recreation)

I think you may be on to something. Here are the major crease lines after making a crane. (Image attached)

I am no mere solicitor of readers for a book,
I am merely an entertainer of the mind
and I am here to help all of you "detectives"
keep your skills fresh for what is to come.
I am NOT a waster of your time, unless you
have time to be wasted and choose to do so
with my puzzles. Please have fun and keep
seeking the answers, you may like what
you find in the end
Sincerely,
Mr. E. Nigma

It's a batman joke..
Little birdie in red = Robin.
Beating someone with a cluebat = giving them an obvious hint to spill already and not keepe verything bottled up.
It's like trouting, just with a word which contains multiple meanings. bat a la cricket- or baseball bat, plus there's the batman link, in the form of bat-a-rang etc.. And clue.. Should be obvious, seeing how one nickname of the Dark Knight is the Detective.
Hmm.. You ruined the joke.. Bad guest..
