So apparently I was on to something in one of my previous posts... either about the dots or the camera angle. I think it was the camera angle as that one is more apparent.
--------------------------------
Also, "The first four months will guide you to me". I have a feeling this is referring to the dates in the Stalker video. If anyone has any ideas or wants to know what I might be "right" about you can reach me at DeineGesichtSPLAThotmail.com

Heheh, I'm getting really into this...

norristian, would you care to elaborate in this forum about whatever you may have stated earlier that you think The Codemaster is acknowledging, or perhaps you could give us a link to where the comment/s appeared.

Looking at the blog and youtube, I can't see any comment by you that might be being referenced, and I can't help feeling that it must have been important.

Of course. I pointed out two things I thought might be important on these forums a while back:

"Also, watching the The Human Pet 7, when there is that long black pause and you can here clicking, I think there are three white marks in the center of the screen that are barely visible. Might be just some smudges on my monitor though... >_< Don't know if it means anything but thought I'd throw it out there. "

...and...

"What's the difference between the two Looking and Taking on the Dabble site? I noticed worse quality and you can see the impact when he's ambushed. Am I missing something?
----------------------------------
Well, you'll notice that you can see the abductor tackle his prey wherein the first ones it happened off screen. Could this have just been another camera angle or maybe a retake or something?"

Those are really the only two things I pointed out that could be of importance. If you'd like me to explain further just say so. I'd be more than happy to.

Ahh, I see. I do remember reading that on here. I had presumed, however, that you had made comments elsewhere that the codemaster may have picked up on.

UnForums is meant to remain out-of-game; for the codemaster to be acknowledging comments made on this board seems worthy of being deemed a breach of the UnForum rules. That said, it seems that these types of things are happening more and more frequently, I guess I just hoped that this was not such a case.

norristian, could you please give us the names/dates of the respective videos (or maybe even links)? I guess the videos have been renamed and I'm not sure if I'm looking at the right ones. At first I thought I saw the white marks, but then I realized they were only the reflections of my eyes staring at the screen (Shocked)...
Concerning your second point, maybe a "retake" could mean another victim?

I disagree with you there. unFiction is totally OOG, of course. But reading the forums is an essential source of feedback for the PMs. I'd say it's highly encouraged. To acknowledge this kind of information, while certainly not a brilliant story device, is pretty much within the discretion of the PMs...as long as they don't do it here, on unFiction (which they haven't). For example, (the sadly stagnated) xccr.com...they awarded points to unFiction or another forum as soon as somebody figured out a puzzle on that board.
The way I understand it, whatever the PMs do on their sites has nothing to do with the uF rules/ToS, as long as they don't interfere with or influence the way the game is played on this board (by posting here).

Well, it's true that UF can't control what PMs do on their own sites, but it's bad form, when a site is supposed to be out-of-game (and therefore invisible to the characters in the game), to have in-game characters using information from UF.

Essentially, it forces UF to be in-game even if UF isn't acknowledging it.

There are good reasons for an out-of-game resource remaining out of game. If characters can see SOME of what we talk about here, they can see ALL of it.

Including the parts where we discuss that they're just characters in a (fictional) game. Which is a problem for a game type that requires internal consistency and for the game to be able to believe it's not a game.

No doubts there, it's bad form and in bad style.

I don't want to take this too far off-topic and into the META realm...but, actually, phaedra, I think we're pretty much on the same page.

Still, the way I see it, it doesn't force uF to be IG. Quite the contrary, it makes the whole thing OOG, i.e. it destroys every notion of TINAG. As soon as information from uF gets acknowledged, the mysterious "CodeMaster" instantly becomes just some guy posting (well-made) videos and maybe the odd puzzle, dropping all pretense. It's just a guy reading the forums; there are no more characters. Of course, that seriously hampers the atmosphere of the game and limits the audience, forfeiting all internal consistency...I just don't see why that should even concern uF (as long as he doesn't try to influence the way his game is received by posting here).

My point is, if they decide to amend this flaw in their game design based on reactions here, that's cool. If they don't...they fail at creating an immersive ARG. But it's their call...personally, I can still (somewhat) enjoy this for whatever it is. TimeWaster, immersive ARG or fictional video blog...
