Calling all Breast Lovers!
- and you know you all are....

(Apologies in advance for the length... but this is important stuff! - C)

So... as many of you may know, back in July I signed up to participate in the Breast Cancer 3-Day - a 3 day (natch) 60 mile walk to raise awareness and money for Breast Cancer Research. I've been mentioning it here and there, and was waiting for about a month before I started doing the major shilling Smile

Here's the skinny - to participate in The Walk, the Walker *must* raise at least $2,200. This is in light of the fact that for 3 days, the walkers have everything provided for them - food, showers, shelter at night, and safety on the route. Very very little of the donated money goes towards this support effort - most is donated or provided at a significantly reduced cost. However, the 3-Day org wants to make sure you are DEDICATED, hence the set donation amount.

Sadly I'm not going to be able to participate this year - while training for the Walk, I had an old injury raise it's ugly head, and it's caused nerve damage to my leg (doesn't hurt... just after so many miles, it just doesn't work anymore). So I've had to pull out of the Walk for this year...

... but I had a fundraiser going at the coffee shop in my building where I work, and over the course of the couple months they've been doing this fundraiser, they've raised about $500! How awesome... and since I can't use it now, we both wanted to give it to someone who *was* walking, and still needed the help to get to their goal.

Now (FINALLY), I'm getting to the point! I've found a very wonderful gal to support with the coffee shop donation money... and even asked them to continue the fundraiser on her behalf. Her name is Erin Garwood, and she's a single mom trying to participate in her first walk. The reason for this post is because, even with the $500 already raise, and probably another $200-300 it will raise before the cut-off date - it's not going to be enough to get her to that $2,200 goal.
