Because people have been asking me so many questions about the fire, for some reason, I figured I'd post this article from the front page of the paper.

Friday night, a tragic fire consumed the PhoenixFire Corporation building, presumably killing all who were inside. An early estimate puts the number dead at a hundred and fifty. Firemen were called to the scene at approximately ten o'clock, where they found the building already engulfed in flames. There was little they could do; flames were leaping from every window. Friday was an important day in the history of the company. In eighteen ninety seven, the Corporation's founder Jakob Plessing was born. According to the company's website, Plessing was psychic and formed the company to "promote acceptance of the metaphysical world." Since the founding of the company, they have sponsored a number of projects such as Miss Corinn's Free! Psychic Readings service. Miss Corinn herself is believed to be one of the victims of the fire. The company, and various friends and partners of employees, were on hand last night for a "company picnic" celebrating Plessing's birth. Top executives at the company were planning to unveil their latest project, so every single employee is believed to have been in attendance. To the knowledge of Middletown's fire chief, no one made it out alive. Eyewitnesses reported that the fire first showed in the top windows of the twenty five story building. They also said that an explosion was heard several minutes before the first appearance of the flames. Because of this, the fire marshal is suspecting a gas leak. The fire was allowed to run its course, because "sending in more men would have only resulted in more deaths," according to Middletown's fire chief. Because the building was completely gutted, recovering remains is highly unlikely. Because of this, wrecking of the building will begin tomorrow morning.

The PhoenixFire Building Is Gone

Last night the PhoenixFire Corporation building burned to the ground. (that's the one I went to the other day to get the dream interpretation.) That's what the commotion was outside (I live across the street and a few houses down.)

The firemen were there all night, but as far as I know no one got out alive...

It seems a couple of people found my blog and are angry with me. what did i do?!! The one guy asked me what I did after I saw Luisa. Luisa, the woman from the building? I didn't see her tonight... not that I know of... I sort of don't remember anything from 9:00 to whenever I posted last night. But I'm trying not to think about how close this whole thing was to my dreams.

I didn't have any nightmares last night. First time in a long time. I think... I think maybe it's over.

The cops came over today and asked me a few questions about where I was last night. Apparently someone saw a figure fitting my description leaving the building a few minutes after the explosion... which I don't really understand, because if I was in the middle of the fire and blast or whatever, wouldn't I be burned?

I made up this story about sleeping in my room. The thing that scares me is, I'm starting to think that maybe I did it. I'm having blackouts, waking up with strange messages nearby...

At least I'm not dreaming about the rotten corpse any more.

Yesterday afternoon, firemen entered the PhoenixFire Corporation building to
ensure that no further flames were burning. What they discovered has some locals
in shock, while others insist that they knew it all along. Kyle DiSoto, who was
asked to go into the building, says this: "We went inside and started poking
through the debris. It seemed like the main lobby had some plants or something
and a couch. Whatever. Then we came to what used to be the front desk, and we
found a burned out book. But whatever. We hadn't gotten very far when we heard a
loud groaning noise above us. Joe shouted 'Get out!' We turned and started to
run, but a cave-in blocked the main door. Suddenly what must have been, like,
six tons of water comes pouring through the ceiling, punches through the ground,
and continues on to the basement. We didn't even get a drop of water on us, but
it was like watching a god**** waterfall. The debris shifted again, and the
water stopped. We went over and looked in the hole, and we saw this elaborate
network of, like, tunnels. They stretched off in all directions... And now they
are full of water, of course, but they look like they could stretch under the
entire city. If someone got lost down there, who knows where they'd end up?" At
the exact time the firemen saw the indoor waterfall, spectators gathered outside
the building claimed to see hundreds of greenish, spectral forms rise from the
roof of the destroyed building and scatter in all directions. It happened so
quickly that some missed it, but the effect was enough to cause a riot. People
began to run, sure that the world was ending and they were going to be attacked
by ghosts. Those who didn't witness the supposed spirits were left standing,
confused, as chaos erupted around them. The network of tunnels inside the
PhoenixFire Corporation, according to Fire Chief Dan Chulman, is too dangerous
to explore and must be filled in with cement before construction on a new
building can be built. Online, this reporter has uncovered a network of people
who were unhappy with the PhoenixFire Corporation and some of its practices. A
woman named Lucy Middleton was supposedly inside the building last
night, trying to stop the human sacrifice of a woman named Katrina. This
reporter is not sure how true these of human sacrifice and murder are, but you
can read them for yourself at http://www.putting-out-the-fire.blogspot.com. It
is unknown whether Miss Middleton survived. No one has come forward to claim
employment in the PhoenixFire Corporation, so it is expected that the wealth of
the metaphysical company will fall to the Gravediggers' Association of Utah, the
only one of the company's sponsored organizations that was not on hand Friday to
witness the unveiling of the Corporation's latest project. It could be several
months before this happens, however. In a bizarre twist of fate, the Corporation's fire safety inspection was scheduled to take place this Thursday. Perhaps the building (and untold lives) could have been saved had the special meeting taken place a week later... As expected, the destruction of the remainder of the building will begin today, in the form of a wrecking ball which is already stationed outside. Police are cordoning off the entire street, so if
your daily routine takes you past the PhoenixFire Corporation building, we
suggest finding an alternate route.

Which means the police can find my blog through the binary on Lucy's website. Which means I should probably stop using it and deny all connections... or just say that it was something I made up. That sounds good. This is all just a joke. Not real. You hear that, Officer Perlman? A joke!
