Dale Mail July 19, The Professor checks in....

Quote:
From: <professor@professorwhiting.4t.com>

To: <dale@synthasia.com>

Subject: Is this correct?

Date: 19 July 2003

Dale:

My apologies if this is misdirected. Several people have recently been in contact with me, asking me to help an old student named Dale Sprague. At the same time they have been asking for my help, however, they have been playing a game of hide and seek, declining to provide Mr. Sprague's contact information. Earlier today, however, another individual whose 'name' (OdinDoe) is unknown to me forwarded this address to me out of the blue.

If you are not Dale Sprague, former Penn State student, forgive the intrusion. If you are, and do wish to make contact, I can be reached at this address. I would ask you to not hand this information out indiscriminately, however -- I am very busy these days trying to complete the final edits on the page proofs of my upcoming book, and my time is somewhat limited as a result. Still, if I can be of service in whatever problems you are having, let me know.

Richard Whiting

And he even has his own domain...... professorwhiting.4t.com
EDIT: which has listed as current hobbies and interests:
Current Interests:
Writing. Historical translation and evaluation of ancient manuscripts and sacred artifacts. Fishing.

EDIT #2: OMG!!!!!!! LINKS PAGE LISTS ANSWER PROJECT!!!!!!!!!

That "fishing" is a jab at Chasing the Fish? Wink

Interesting that there's a link to "The Avalon Project" at Yale, but the link is busted. Maybe we need to ask him to describe the Avalon project to us instead?

I tried that link as well and think it was just set up wrong. As the link should be:

http://www.yale.edu/lawweb/avalon/avalon.htm

Which has a lot of info as well Project DIANA - An Online Human Rights Archive. Which I have no idea what that is about.

Project DIANA appears to have been named after Princess Diana - something to do with human rights.

This Avalon page and stuff has been around long before game, so it's real life. Most of Professor Whiting's links are real life (except for TAP).
Still trying to find his connection to TAP....maybe we can write to Peter?

Perhaps an email to him might be helpful. Perhaps he's the fisherman shadowtalk1 was talking about? Or something....

Quote:
shadowtalk1: the mythosphere guides
shadowtalk1: one of many
shadowtalk1: names
the42guy: whose names? what other names are there?
shadowtalk1: fishermen

And so, I will email him and Peter, see what sort of a connection they have, if any.
