Could #2 possibly mean:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Country? Maybe even the state/province?

dark human, i really really really really want it to be in north america, but you have to have id to get on a plane. it'd be just as easy for the cube to make a passport as it would be for it to create some etheral drivers license or birth certificate..

Sad but there are a lot more big forests here right? maybe it'll be in America

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

I think REALM is a pointer to the United Kingdom, with Region then being an area in there.

Any country with REALM has to be a Monarchy

Of course there are others - but that is a strong pointer

When we were first informed that the Receda Cube was stolen, at the beginning of the game, we were given the very descriptive location of "earth" to look for the cube. This provides an insight to where on this "so called earth" the cube is hidden. I think that each level is supposed to be more specific. For those science buffs in the audience, it's like a dichotomous (or in this case, polychotomous) key.

Level 1.
We start by dividing the possible playing field in half. Next, we would divide it even further.

Level 2.

My guess is that #2 will be the continent/country the logical next step for a polychotomous key, "realm" refering to a group of regions.

I went to dictionary.com, so that all can rest easy.
Realm has two main defenitions:

1. a royal domain; kingdom: the realm of England.
2. the region, sphere, or domain within which anything occurs, prevails, or dominates: the realm of dreams.

So, yes, realm could refer to a kingdom, making England a likely (and really only) choice, but it could also just be refering to a domain (of which any country would be eligible).

I think that we should figure out how to play the Risk game described in the Wave 4 cards. When we do, the board should end up indicating a country, this country being the realm we're looking for.

Level 3.
If realm was refering to continent, this is likely to refer to country.
If realm was refering to country, this is likely refering to state (if in America), or province (or whatever you call them in England. Sorry, I'm culturally ignorant!)

I believe that this information was given to us by CT in his description of the city, and we just need to zero in whether this is really NYC.

Level 4.
I agree, that this is "tree"

Level 5.
Oh, the anticipation sets in. This does let us know, however, that there is still one more piece of information that we need before we can find the cube. No need to start tying your shoes yet.

So let's get cracking with Level 2 guys, if we can. I think that I'm right. At least, there's no evidence that I'm wrong. If anyone has any comments, or disproving evidence, please tell me.

Here's some speculation for ya.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The hemispheres (Northern and Southern) are not the only way you can halve the globe. There are (of course) almost an infinite number of halves - each great circle is one.

One of the famous ones is the Greenwich Meridian (separates the Eastern and Western Hemisphere). It is named after the Royal Observatory there - interesting link to Realm.

This is in the middle of Greenwich Park.

Very convenient for MC Smile

Just as an aside, I remember reading that the Cube was buried RIGHT AT THE START (i.e. before PXC took off). This fact has always lead me to believe that the most likely location for the Cube is in the UK - as at the time there can have been no certainty whatsoever that the whole cube chase would take off anywhere other than in that locality.

Well, if we're going to be symantic about it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom#Current_nation_monarchies_of_the_world
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:World_monarchies.PNG

Those are your various realmy options. Personally, I'm thinking "realm" may be a loose interpretation of "country" or "nation".

Feels good we're all moving again, great to have people all busy working away on something.
If I were to take a stab at finger 1, maybe the hint for that could be card #203 Ecliptic? It has a little earth with a line separating the north and south hemisphere and a little cube with a line pointing to the northern one. Seems somewhat of a blatant sort of thing, but you can't expect a hint that narrows it down to 255,032,800 or so square kilometers to be too tricky.

So...I got #223 yesterday in a booster pack. Weird.

Anyway, is it just me or does it look like some sort of land mass underneath the cipher numbers on the card?

Also, I mentioned this once in the card forum, but is it possible that the two joker cards (secret location and persian) are meant to be looked at together? It seems like no one has been able to figure out why the card is called Persian in the first place.

AH! I wasn't being so dim yesterday then. I had just taken the wormhole to be the 3P getting people over to earth however they could. My understanding was that the wormhole wasn't as controllable enough to get it to be in an excact location. But you maybe right that they did open it to get to where the cube is.

Just a small thing to help non-UK people - England (and the UK in general) is split into 'counties'.

This seems to come and go, along with different sets of letters in the "authors create worlds" part of the animation. Were the letters the same that Ryan noticed: "LUI BORGE"?

Missing letters seems to come into this for sure, although the animation doesn't always miss them out, or miss the same ones out. I've order my copy of 'The Wonderful O' already, which runs along these lines...
