My only observation at this point is that the groups of 5 are probably meant to distract you, since each major group ends with a set of less than five. The total number of characters in each major group is divisible by 3, so the code is possibly a mapping onto sets of three. Beyond that, doing a frequency count of the sets of 3 in your message shows very little repetition, so it's not a simple substitution.
