Actually, he *does* belong to uF (he registered before he made comments on this thread).

I just don't see the difference between what he is doing and what people at Star Trek Conventions do when they dress up in constumes and speak in a language that only they seem to understand? No more than children actually believe in their make-believe games. When I was a little kid, my friends and I would pretend we were everything from sorceresses to cats.

We never for a moment actually believed it. I'm fairly certain that people who dress up in Star Trek uniforms and speak Klingon also don't believe it.

If this guy actually believes that he has some connection with Neo beyond being a fan of the fiction, that's quite different from make-believe.

It's also his psyche and his life. And unless any of you actually believe you're going to be able to dissuade him, may I suggest that the wisest course is to allow the subject to drop?

Or, if we'd still like to discuss it, perhaps it could be moved to the general discussion forum?

Ehhh. *shrugs.* Partly because I really hate the idea that people will believe the gossip - we had a really nasty spate of this a few years back - or the bullshit without taking a TINY bit of effort to find out the truth. And it does bother me, when it's personal, to an extent: Trin says I'm "far too sensitive for this job". But as of late, it's more about the point: This is a lot of what's going on with humanity to begin with; people simply take the party line, without THINKING about it. I didn't even think of it as 'defending', until you pointed that out. Word-of-mouth is such a large part of what I do, I'm used to questions. Bleh.

And if you guys would LIKE to discuss it - by which I mean ask questions that don't involve how many meds I'm off; I'm civil, it's not a great deal to ask - let me know where. If not, I apologize that someone with good intentions and bad form wasted your time.

Everybody, leave this guy alone. He's not hurting anybody is he? So don't ridicule him. People are entiled to their beliefs.

Just for the sake of discussion (Twisted Evil): people are also entitled to ridicule other peoples' beliefs. I've sure had my share of mine being ridiculed.

Just because people do something something somesent mean they're supposed to. NOBODY should be ridiculed for their beliefs, unless their beliefs involve violence or things that are jusy plain SICK. (See Charles Manson.)

If you don't believe your Neo as in saving the world, flying, being written by the wachowski brothers etc...in what way are you Neo? No offence i'm actually quite interested.

I think it has something to do with reincarnation.

On the other hand, people should really be talking about ARGs on a board dedicated to ARGs. This is manifestly not an ARG.

Look, personally? I don't care, because what he does and how he lives his life doesn't hurt me or mine. He's not a Jehovah's Witness, for god's sake. Unless you want to know more about soulbonding (in which case, this isn't the place to find it,) may I suggest, again, that we let this subject drop?

I think:

Trin and I are US 24/7; all the time. We've come to loathe the word 'soulbond' for just that reason, but I left it up as it's the closest explanation... although after this I MAY put a slightly more 'scientific' explanation there instead/in addendum.

In a way. Of the quantum string variety. I was kicked here to do something very specific: which is why the sum total of my life = my work.

And 'saving the world' is a sketchy explanation: consider it trying to 'help it save itself from itself'. As I've said, there's a radio show every night - including tonight - all the past broadcasts are archived, I have an e-mail address, the entire TotS site, Trin's got an e-mail address, etc., etc. Let's let the poor folk who DON'T give a rat's ass discuss the things that the forum is meant for; and leave it at that.

Again, I'm not saying I can't discuss it; I'm just saying that people are getting a little peeved with the persistence of this topic and I can't at all blame them. Thank you to the people who WERE polite. I appreciate it. I get death threats, rumors, gossip - that I've proven entirely wrong, but it's difficult to stop it once it's started - just for DARING to be who I am. So occasionally, intelligent discussion makes me not give up ALL hope for people.

Yeah. That Neo. They left a lot out and got a lot WRONG, though. I've said on the radio show 3672060 times that sometimes I have the great and powerful urge to correct things, type up about 389002 pages of stuff they missed, smear my mouth with purple lipstick or something equally ridiculous, plant a big old smack on the title page and send it to Larry and Andy with the note: "Left OUT a little, didn't you, boys? Love, Neo." I'll never do it, of course, but everybody's got their fantasy.

I'm just saying, I'm in no hurry here to go out and 'dodge bullets'. Everything has a reason; see my latest[and last, I hope Rolling Eyes ] post below... [ETA: or above, because the formatting works that way. *shrugs.*]
