Second run, no luck. This time I tried latin epithets as usernames and job ID as passwords.

I feel positively stupid now. Shifty Eyes

Where are the Cloudmakers of old in your hour of need? Confused

Hmmm, H just had a brainwave.
So far all attempts at figuring out "Venus Epithet" have focussed on the Goddess Venus. What if we are supposed to be finding epithets for the Planet Venus? Like "Hesperus the morning star" or "Phosphorus the evening star" both names for Venus before it was known to be a planet.
Or maybe the name of one of the Venus robot landers? Names like Venera and Magellan?
Or sticking with the Goddess view, how about Aphrodite? I haven't seen that one mentioned yet.
Just throwing this out there...

Sorry, I couldn't resist. My bad...

Just my opinion but - I don't think so. We're being clued, heavily. We received direct link to that Wikipedia site. Somebody want us to move forward. The solution must lie just before our eyes, and I am banging my head towards the wall that I cannot see it. Sad

EDIT: I am giving up... for the moment. 3AM in the morning around here.

EDIT2: "Faces" have been mentioned twice today (here && in the flash). It feels like there's some meaning behind these words, but I cannot grasp it.
Good luck!

EDIT3: "Tomorrow we will play a little game. AFK." -- Alfred's N/A message.

Interesting information that I stumbled across: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terraforming_of_Venus

Probably not important, but still interesting... Smile

Things should be pretty interesting tomorrow. To quote Alfred Alan's away message:

username / password possbile hint

I was looking through the source code for the username/password and noticed the variables used in the source code to store the user/pass may be a hint:

user: user_nm7
pass: pass_wrd6

I think this because there is no reason I can think of for them to have the 7 or 6 after them, however there are no other text fields on the page as an example so I can't see if this is just how they like to write their html. My guess is the number of letters for each?

The decode is a straight copy paste from the flash decompiler. Okay, the 'Text String' part I think I grabbed accidently, but the rest was exactly as it was being done by the flash when I got it.

And, if you want to get technical about it, it should be 'Don't cut off your nose to spite your face'. It's not a Japanese proverb (or at least I can find no mention of it being so associated). It supposedly comes from an event in Scotland where Viking raiders attacked the monastery of Coldingham. The nuns cut their nose and lips in an effort to protect their chasity. The Vikings, being so appalled, burnt the monastery to the ground.

Or so says Wikipedia.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
username: armata password: radius for Security Op.
It DOES depend where you put the password in. This works only here: http://www.neovenusconstruction.com/de.html
username: genetrix password: mass for medical tech
username: cloacina password: volume for Terraforming. Gee, this one was so OBVIOUS!

OK, what if UPSET EVE isn't an anagram, but our hint is someone/thing that upset eve? Like... serpent, devil, god, adam... lots of possibilities there. I've tried a bunch of them but none worked.

OK, I was browsing the image files on the site and I turned up a few I can't seem to find on the normal site.
